CPU / external SSD

Hi, when using Maschine with a whole lot of groups running, I often get high CPU loads and crackles etc.

Will moving my project files and samples to a fast external SSD help?

 

It might help a bit but only if you use usb 3 and if the usb chipset driver is good too, better buy an internal ssd, if you use a lot of samples. You can also try to use https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon and find out if a driver or other program causing it. Which CPU is optimal for Budget price ? I use I 5 3 series 4 cores for m Lenovo Thinkpad T 430 and I can have 3 heavy Kontakt instances and that's my only problem, with many Massive and FM and audio I am satisfied but I would like to know which CPU under 300 euros/$ can provide good experience

 

Try to find a used desktop PC with at least an i5 6th gen or better or Ryzen 5 1600 or 2600, i don't know what you get for that money. I7 (Ryzen 7) would be of course better also from 6th gen on. You can then also upgrade ram and drives later.
