I would agree, TSP2 is way more hardware resource hungry than it's predecessor.

    HOWEVER...

You can not expect an increase in features and options, such as loop recorder and sample decks, without some level of CPU and RAM usage increase.vI dare say there is also an improvement on the audio processing side of things (very resource heavy side of computing in general).

What you can expect tho is a well coded and optimised product which does not hold on to unnecessary RAM and use massive CPU power when not required.

In conclusion I would say that we have to expect some increase in h/w requirements but that as the product matures a greater level of optimisation will be achieved via software patches. NI have released a quality product which I love and that will only get better!

    That's my thoughts anyway

I know and understand what u mean. However simply I cant stand that if i turn the latency on 512samples and 44khz, and as you can see on the screen, i do nothing, even none track is put on decks, whole analyzing has been done, and i completely turned off decks C and D from settings... and still cpu bar act like crazy...

This is unacceptable... I hope their fix this very soon :(

Leeway - I have no doubt that you are having an issue, but I would suggest that it could be in relation to your personal system.

May people are reporting higher CPU usage (and I have check with mine, it is indeed higher!) but not may are getting the CPU to redline.

It could be a bug, but the fact that the same release of software is not having the same effect on other machines leads me to think that it could not be in the software.

Remember that there are new drivers that come with the new software. It is not the same as TSP1.

Have you done a comprehensive trouble-shoot to try and identify the issue?

First of all, identify the issues and identify the things that have changed.

Then return the things that have changed to what they were previously until all is working fine. Start with the variation that is furthest away from changing TSP2 to TSP1.

The most common issue is driver related when it comes to computers and audio.

So you say that i should uninstal drivers for audio 8 dj and install the latest version before tsp2 ?

Yup, begin with an older driver version (like 2.0.15) and see what happen. Seems you're more running out of Ram than CPU though.

How many Running Process you see at the bottom of the task manager?

If I was you the first thing I would try is using the drivers that you had working perfectly with TSP 1. That is where I would start. It will hopefully fix your problem. It might not. But it is worth a try.

64 process, that's huge my friend, you should be able to decrease it to 35-40 without much problem.

Also... carefull... process dwm.exe could be an indication that you have a spyware/virus on your machine.

Time for a cleanup and system optimization... what's your system BTW? Asus?

Go for driver version 2.0.15, that may help

That is a good point. Have you done all the tweaks for your machine?

Maybe you should msconfig it and de-select a few of those startup items (and def delete google toolbar notifier! haha)

Also, Leeway - Put your system specs in your sig. CPUr, HDD, GFX, RAM, OS, etc.

If you're going to use some kind of "recovery Disk" then definitely get rid of most Acer add-on software...

Again, that dwm.exe doesn't smells good at all...

so ditch the crap that takes up your CPU. Like tune-up utilities......

Clean up your system so things are not sucking the life out of your cpu

Well, on one side, here's how much I managed to stress Traktor:

    http://cl.ly/5l0u

4 decks all playing, FX turned on, scratching second deck, 10 ms latency. CPU doesn't go higher than that, in Traktor.

...And on the other hand I've had to increase my latency to like 10 ms from 3ish, or else I will hear pops and clicks. What the hell?
