CPU / LATENCY TSP2 problem NI say something

I hope they fix it soon.

 

Interestly all of the issues i have had with TSP2 have all now gone by simply removing the battery dont know if this will work for you all but works fine for me now finally using all of TSP2 features. This for me cleary indicates an issue with the software as it should not make any differerence taking out the battery. I am now running at just under 10ms latency no audio issuse at all the cpu(load) meter does not appear to be moving now which is odd to anyway hope helps someone else

 

This is a funny thread. If anyone hasn't read through this fully please go back and do it. You will soon realize that Traktor takes software development to a whole new level where the users have to fully reconfigure there hardware to work with Traktor. This is so unacceptable. It might work fine for half of you but that's still only 50% that is unnaceptable for a FINAL release.

Let's just put in the requirements; A degree in software and hardware engineering required, and may only work stable on half of the machines it it is installed on.

 

gonna try this.i somewhat had traktor running good.i have a dnx1700 mixer/built in soundcard.have to use 48khz instead of 96khz(cause as soon i i use this setting,cpu goes to **** in traktor).also latency is set at 13ms..had it running pretty good,used it like this a couple days..had a few bpm issues/bpm not being read right,it wasnt accurate.couple stutters....until 5 minutes ago! had traktor 2 running/using 4 timecodes,all of a sudden traktor just froze.i CAN move the mouse around and click on stuff,but its just stuck,kontrol x1 froze too,lights all lit up n stuck.closed traktor.screen closed,but when it wasnt compleely closed,in task manager,its still runing,tried ending it n nothing.hogging up 244,xxx ram.somethin like that.kinda not good lol..

gonna try to run the latop with no battery as the dude said,will report back in a few.



EDIT: tried with no battery,it was actually awful for me.lol.songs stuttered/sounded like a scratched cd/corrupted mp3 file with ticks n bleeps lol.

To keep this alive i have now found that if i use powermizer app the performance of tsp2 is better still what really concerns about all of this is th lack of input from NI either tell me the specs are now very different although there is no real evidence to support this as TSP1 or TSP2 do not draw any differently from my cpu or tell me there is a fix on the way sadly i do not hope to here either very bad NI

Its been over a month. Every day, a couple of times a day, I swing by to see if the stickys have been updated..... I get sucked into some horrible thread out of depression.... I just can't do this to myself anymore... We should start a support group or something.

 

I find it quite depressing that a company of NI size is not even saying anything. Whats worse is i have never had any issues with TSP before and have never felt the need to complain and now I know why so many people get upset. I for one do not think this product was ready for release yet there are some lucky people out there this works faultlessly for let me know your laptop specs and I am off to buy one because wether i like it or not that looks like my most immediate proper cure. I now feel quailfied to work for microsoft i have become such a computer enginneer now me i get paid to pay play music not fix computers Sort it out NI

Thanks Count interestly before i threw my laptop at the wall I changed carts on the decks i was using and guess what TSP2 works fine feel a bit silly now just puts some shures in and all fine now have battery back in and normal audio stuff done will try with cdjs this evening they should work fine not expecting the HID to be any good but byou never know

 

. . . just want to share my experience with tsp2, setup see in signature . .
from 1st of april till 3 days ago I had a lot of dropouts, spikes, experiencing lot of problems . . . with hard work and lot of tests I succeed to get 6.8ms latency on DELL XPS M1530 (which is known as most problematic notebook/brand).
I customized win7 x64 ultimate to embedded level, turned of almost everything, Im using game fire (a tool which cuts all the unnessecery windows processes and services).
Im running now tsp2 with 0 dropouts !
most of the problems came from ACPI and nvidia power managment (powermizer).
I am an IT technician, most of the tweeks cant be made by regular windows user . . .
just saw a mod announcing hotfix, I hope this will fix the problems without doing all these stuffs . . .

For me it works just as good as 1.2.7 did.
Seem to be a lucky guy.

 

Ts2 Cpu Spikes

I see there is a lot of other people with CPU spike issues...here is my story..

First week of March 2011, I purchased AUDIO 4 DJ...used it for 5 days and LOVED IT! Never gave me ANY problems what so ever... I enjoyed it so much I returned it and pre ordered AUDIO 10!

Waited a month for delivery, set it up, and I have never been able to hold a mix together because of CPU SPIKES and the track skipping forward or backwards .5 - 1 sec for approx 2 seconds then SOMETIMES it will go back to where it was originally.
This will happen approx ever 2 - 3 minutes. whats strange about it is TS2 claims CPU is spiking red, however windows task manager says CPU state is only @ maybe 25%....really weird...

I am using same computer I used with AUDIO 4 DJ when things worked perfect...I am starting to regret purchasing this, a few more hundred $ I could have purchased Serato which I have also never had a problem with.

Troubleshooting steps I have took:
1. turned of ALL windows services except NIHARDWARE SERVICE
2. registry cleaners
3. defrag
4. REALTIME process in task manager for TS2...
5. Ran different programs to clean computer up and attempt to make run faster

+ many more.. I have been troubleshooting since the day I reicived my Audio 10!
I don't even feel comfortable playing it in a club because I know it's going to Spike and skip...

And it's not like I have a crappy comp either..
I'm running the following:
COMP SPECS:
AMD Dual Core 2.5
6 GIG ram
DUAL ATI Video Cards
AUDIO 10
WIN 7 64BIT

AUDIO SYSTEM SPEC:
2 - Denon 3500 cdj
1 - A&H Xone 92 mixer.
All brand new RCA cable (not the cheap ones either)
All brand new USB high speed cables (again, not the cheap ones)

I have even reformatted windows 7 TWICE! and still I'm spiking...

Atleast I'm not the only one with the problem...I did notice NI finally claims they have found a hot fix and I cannot wait to download it and hope it works... I really hope its a final fix!

PLEASE DONT MAKE ME SELL MY AUDIO 10! Because I really do love TS2, many many options Serato does not (and prolly will not) have.

i think this will solve nothing for me. it says clearly CPU issues in timecode mode fixed. i have problems with the cpu (in traktor) (10 ms latency) but i don't use timecode control, i use 2 decks and 2 live inputs.

 

They say "Some of you have experienced CPU issues with Traktor 2.0.1 and timecode mode", There is the word "and" so i think this will be fixed.

Great to hear something is actually on the way from NI.

Strange that it's a "hotfix" and not just 2.0.2 though....
