hello everyone, I have an AMD Ryzen 7, 3700U APU, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD when I convert MP3's to WAV and load it into machine software to create a sample, it hangs when playing and cannot be stopped, is running through, quality also bad, how can that be? urgently need help, is my CPU too slow or is it due to the converted WAV files, do you have a tip for me, change buffer and latency? and on what? Many thanks in advance

A little more info would be useful, what are you loading the wav into? Sampler? Or audio engine, are they full tracks? Or just short loops, the audio engine is pretty heavy on CPU cycles and although I've never tried it I can imagine loading a full track in wav format may not be wise as the file sizes involved would be pretty large compared to a drum or synth loop..

My plan is to load an mp3 song into the machine software and edit it, cut it into small samplers, build and mix with the machine software, as a controller I have the MK3 Micro
which buffer size and which latency would be optimal?
    Thanks

I loaded the WAV into the sampler

That's a pretty big file to be loading, I suspect that's probably what's causing you problems, I suggest chopping into smaller chunks in audacity or a similar program then importing into machine for editing.. or if you're dead on having the whole file to play around with get serato sample, it's MP3 compatible and will do everything you need it to more or less..

Edit.. I just tried what you are doing with an mp3 to wav conversion resulting in a 38mb wav, loaded fine and chopped up fine too, that's on an 8th gen quad. Core i5 with 24gb ram.. not sure what's going on for you, could you upload a video?

Change your buffer size and change you Sampler playback setting from one shot to gate

    Hello,

About CPU, note that "audio plugin" (that read audio loops) is using a lot of CPU when set in "stretch mode". It s not well optimised in maschine. Use "re-pitch" mode if you don't need to stretch your files ton save CPU (or sampler plugin instead).
Also note that your files should have the same sampling frequency and bit depth than your project and interface. otherwise, it will use too much CPU as well.

About the sound quality, if conversion is made with the same sampling frequency and audio depth as your project, there is ni objective reason to get a lesser quality.

    I Hope it helped

    It depends on your system.
Which audio interface do you use?
The audio chipset on the motherboard or an external interface?
