Hi, i'm running machine on my laptop (2g ram, vista) with an audio 8 dj. the system is set to high performance and the sample rate is 44100 with buffer size 256 but I cant seem to get the cpu usage meter out of the red. I've tried setting machines priority to high in the task manager but this hasn't helped also I've read some solutions on another thread http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102926&highlight=cpu+usage+red but these hasn't solved my problem either. I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Turn off speedstepping in your BIOS, and have your power scheme in Windows set to max performance.

I have the computer set to max performance all the time but I cant find anyway to disable speedstepping. its strange because this only started happening recently and i didn't change any settings or anything. I run traktor scratch pro and ableton with no problems.

What changes have you made to your system, then? Something's changed...

Same Problem >CPU usage meter in red

    Hi,

i have the same problems with one of the 1.5 demo tracks-> Plate Tectonics,

and sporadically sound cracklin at work with all other projects. I have a laptop too, with windows 7, 32bit with 2 GB ram. It is an lenovo T500 with an Intel Core 2 Duo P8600. BIOS speed stepping disabled, WLAN disabled, Full power -> power scheme, My m-audio pro usb with own driver or with asio4all driver version 2.10, 44100/256 and test with other settings still the same effect.

    LG

...that's strange, i have exact the same processor and no problems playing this song, my notebook has a bit more ram (4GB installed) but only 3070MB are usable,
    its a >2 jear old "ASUS F8Va"
my soundcard is a E-MU 0404, the soundcards asio driver is set to 24bit@44100Hz and 5ms buffersize...

here is what perfmon.exe looks like when "Bass Vari 2" is looping:
(IE8 with 5 Tabs open, NIS2010 (in "silent mode"), Windows Sidebar, SnippingTool.exe and perfmon are also running at the same time...)
    perfmon.JPG

maybe there are some other tasks running that are using your systems resources? ...i did a new windows install last week before installing maschine (i haven't done this since i got this notebook about 2 jears ago, so it was overdue anyway)...

    best regards,
    synthe

    @smithwessen

i have turned up the sound card buffer and it helps, but using the samples buffer size to 1024 the latancy at 44.1 khz output is approx. 50 milisecs. Is this o.k. ?
    Thank you and
    Regards
