I'm getting audio crackle on playback on some ensembles. This is a new thing ...so I'm guessing it might be a 4.1 issue ( I've got the new update ). This crackle doesn't occur in any other program , chnging latency settings doesn't affect it , but if I minimise the windows in the ensemble the problem vanishes. Any ideas ? Do I need to clear out some space in my PC , buy a new graphics card , or join the list of 4.1 problem owners ? Any help appreciated....

FWIW, I had crackling when viewing certain ensembles on my new system until I turned off hyperthreading in the BIOS. Are you running a P4 with hyperthreading?

i've had a few customers with this problem. they all traced it back to hyperthreading 'conflicts'. NI's products don't seem to like it. i'm a mac guy, so i don't know all the particulars. it seems pretty arse though. i know i would be upset if it i had a machine tricked out to give it extra oomph, only to find out a large chunk of my software programs don't support that oomph.

What's a pisser is that hyperthreading seems to be largely hooey. I don't think there's any oomph to be had!
