    Hi

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the attack of a loop? I don't mean AHDSR on Group-level, nor do I mean zone envelopes on sample-level. What I want to do is this:

I'm experimenting with a looping sample. I have assigned CC1 to both loop start (not inverted) and loop length (inverted). So when I move the modwheel up the loop starts at a later point and also ends at an earlier point. This results in a sound that is speeding up without pitch-change. But moving the start of the loop results in a harsh attack. I would like the start of the loop the have a slower attack to soften the looping sound. Is this possible?
My goal is to create a steam-train-sound to can be sped up and slowed down in real time. I could do this with pitch-change, but then...the pitch changes :) and I don't want that.

Use one of Time Machine modes and modulate Speed with modwheel (adjust modulation shaper accordingly)?

That's indeed a nice way to do what I want. Though the drawback of this method is that you get some stretching artifacts. That's why I am experimenting with changing the loop start so that the sound stays what it is. So if I interpret your reply correctly there is no way to have some sort of softer attack when changing/cutting into a loop?

Well, you can modulate envelope attack time as you raise the modwheel to alleviate potential clicks... But not much else.

So that means that only at the first trigger this has effect, right? I mean, from the moment it starts looping the attack is not applied at every start of a new turnaround. Correct?

    Eh, that's true, yeah.

Think I'm gonna suggest this as a new feature ;-) attack on loop-level.

Did you try increasing the xfade time for the zone's loop?
