like alluded to stage management and timing; long term income, if they make the best unit off the bat then they cant make money of releasing updates and other iterations.

so marketing and business strategy trumps musical innovation; also complacency being the top doq in the market since 09; and they created the hardware controller groove-box controlling software market (or at least made it financially viable after Roland dropped the ball)

It's not like in communism we had only one MIDI manufacturer and no competition at all so they could **** on their controllers and we had to buy it lol

well, this isnt true since there has only been 1 paid Maschine update, all other since 2009 were free. Even the ones that included massive innovation like making it a vst. If they're using your perceived strategy they'd be broke by now. Maybe every company isnt evil after all

but the technology is definitely managed.

certain chips and components are made available to all technology companies and then each company produces products based on technology they have been allowed to use for that year by some 3rd party (or group of component manufacturers)

As Im sure there are away more advanced chips/ components available right now but those are not being released to market right now (again drip feeding redundant tech at a high cost)

so the speed of progress is very controlled in a communistic fashion; but instead of one company making midi controllers; u have multiple companies but they all get the underlying tech from another company or group of companies.

Which, if you listen to some on the forum, they wont get the workflow they want til they are Senior citizens. So in essence, they wont make a hit until they have one foot in the grave. ijs:cool:

Again, this is conspiracy theory and wildly untrue. Chips as with all components can be designed by anyone with the skills and a company like NI can develop a proprietary design and get that chip manufactured. The idea that technology is doled out is pretty silly.

Can you provide actual proof of this. I mean actual proof, not your personal interpretation of events

God knows how to program all the requested improvements and even more. It just takes time to communicate it to human programmers.. :)

This thread is lolable as long as the following is present:

    1. OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) Compatibility News
Important information concerning Apple OS X 10.11 (El Capitan): NATIVE INSTRUMENTS has identified major compatibility issues with AU (Audio Units) versions of KOMPLETE, MASCHINE and TRAKTOR products along with certain hardware. More information is available in the Knowledge Base HERE.

And beta drivers are available as part of an open beta test HERE.
I call that more pressing matters

What's funny is that pretty much every company I spoke with at IMSTA FESTA told me that they have no answers/fixes for El Capitan (yet).

Soooo glad I didn't jump in when it dropped.

More likely NI told it's trainer to get a little loose with the info to stem interest in what Akai is doing. It's marketting 101. Every time you see an Apple announcement you see Samsung, MS, and Google do something to stem interest. NI is really good at marketing and controlling the message. I doubt this was a coincidence. But you are right they never hype their software until it's about ready to be released. They do a "leak" that goes viral and then they "have" to release a teaser vid since it went viral and finally they announce a release date which is usually a month from when the first "leak" happened.

Don't feel about the reactions here. It was the same incredulous reaction people had when the MK2 was announced. Some people were calling the guy who say a MK2 in a promo vid an idiot and whatnot. We Maschine users are a skeptical bunch.

At the same time to question a persons truthfullness without knowing them is a bit..douchey. No?

Now it could be that what they get excited about may not be what you get excited about. At the point it's just a matter of opinion.

No need to tear them down for sharing their excitement. You could just wait and see instead of trying to disprove them without you yourself having any information to divulge to the contrary.

You got me, I'm actually on NI payroll to make the hype happen in forums, common my user is like 3 days old, it is pretty obvious.

    PS: MK3 is coming!

I have a question, why do those of you who believe that a person should only buy a computer product for what it can do at that time, also believe that the mutual understanding between a customer and a software company that the company will regularly produce updates to the software sometimes free and sometimes paid truly exist, at best this is a contradictory belief system? On top of that many of you have made comments like 'it's only a 1.0 release' repeatedly and this is a contradictory statement as well. I ask because it doesn't make any sense to me. You know no 1.0 release is perfect, you knew there would be further updates that are free and paid, and you knew these things before your purchase was made, on top of that to back up your assumptions native instruments has repeatedly talked about future plans for maschine so...... why all the you bought it for what it is now bs when that clearly isn't how it works any more than how stock holding works?

Theinvis great question! I bought it for what it could do. I knew nothing else of maschine or NI and still couldn't care less. I was happy with it, the 2.@@ updates I gladly installed hoping it would be as good or better in some ways I like it more in others I wish things were better. **** happens. Roll with it is how I go. I still like maschine, have learned a lot about genre of music that never interests me before and gave me new appreciation for them. I would not go back and change a thing. If Nai does a great update this time great if not I'll keep what I have and move on blissfully ignorant. Hahahaha

I am sure others, most others don't feel this way but it keeps me sane, well as sane I ever was, that isn't saying much I suppose!

I used to believe exactly that when I found out what overclocking is. But since AMD is almost a year behind Intel I don't really believe this anymore.

PS: your member ID is "199999", checked your nice quints

All the requests I heard were totally doable, most of them wouldn't take more than a couple of hours. If you gave me the source code for a sequencer it would take a couple of minutes to solve the repeating pattern issue as soon as I found the relevant lines (and the NI programmers should know where their code's at). And I am pretty sure a basic song mode people could work with wouldn't take more than a couple of days. All the routing issues defo could be addressed within a few hours. No one asked for a "make music" buttons that automatically arranges, mixes and masters the next top10 radio chart hits for Maschine, most of what I heard already exists in other software.

It's really interesting that you say that. The first things I heard about it is that it simply is a signature/verification issue and I thought after an update which adds the relevant bits to the AU it is solved but apparently it's a bit harder than that. Maybe Apple tries to make it harder so people go back (?) to Logic and its Plugins.
