Crossfader lag adjustment innofader PNP

Hi,

I've been reading threads talking about the lag issues with the Z2 crossfader.
Has anybody tried an innofader PNP as a crossfader yet?
How about the lag adjustment of the innofader PNP, does it solve the lag problem?
I know that the warranty will be void, but if upgrading the faders will help solve the lag issue, so be it.

I'm still deciding if I'm going to purchase the Z2, tough choice.

 

You can adjust everything to your personal liking, cut in from 0.1 mm to whatever.
You can adjust the tension and the curve.
I've not played on a Z2 with an Innofader Pro/PNP but in my 909 it performs very very good.

The lag aka cut-in is adjustable, offcourse it will work in the Z2 and other mixers, otherwise Elliot wouldn't sell these faders as an upgrade.
In simple words, the mini-innofader has a bigger deadspot, the lag is not on the mixer it self.
For most people the mini-innofader is a great fader, but for hardcore scratchers the Pro/Pnp is the way to go.
At least one member at this forum has installed the Pro/Pnp, do a search.

I understood you perfectly, but you don't use the Traktor Kontrol Z2 and I would prefer the opinion of a Z2 user with an Innofader PNP. Unlike the mini innofader the innofader PNP hasn't been factory calibrated to work with the Z2, so therefor I'm being very particular before I spend 900 euro on the Z2 plus innofader PNP.

 

Calibration is done one the PNP itself, there is a small button on the right side of the fader, easy as 123.
Since you don't care about waranty, just contact Elliot an he will help you.

Likewise, I've put a PNP in my Z2 and it couldn't have been easier... it plugged straight in and out of the box, the PNP was set to sharp cut with lag of just under 2mm. One quick turn of the lag and it was down to literally zero lag... for my own personal preference I then tweaked the dial back a bit and it now has a lag of 1mm which is just where I wanted it.

Unlike some owners, I was actually happy with the mini-innofader, but the PNP is definitely just that little bit sweeter IMO and now it feels closer to the other mixers I have, making it easier to switch between setups.

I'm going to purchase the Z2 and innofader next week, after extensive researching I concluded it's a dream come true for the scratch dj who uses Traktor ...after a few modifications. The Traktor Z2 and Kontrol F1 are a match made in heaven.

You missed the point!
Give those guys any mixer outthere and they still cut dope, because they can.


But, any scratcher would prefer faders that they could customize to their own needs, not only the cut in time but also the feel of the fader, for people who want this, this is were the Innofader Pro comes in.
According to your comment I suppose your not a scratcher, that's ok, but no need for sarcastic comments.

 

I own the Kontrol Z2 and Will be purchasing the Innofader PNP once I get the money for it, I would advise doing the same! Should not have any issues that we're aware of

 

to be honest, NI finally fixed this issue. they sent me 2 crossfaders and the final fader they sent is superb (no more lag). now if ur wanting to upgrade the upfaders then go for it. i was bitching about the lag for a few months and with a lil patience, i actually love the new fader they sent and i like it better compared to my rane 62

 

Wow good to know! But how did you go about exactly to get those replacement faders sent to ya? Please advise me my friend as I wish to do the same!

 

@emk i just opened up a case with them from the get go and stayed on it till they got it right. it sucked for nearly 2 months. i actually sold my Z2 to my buddy and i gave him the new fader NI sent. Luckily, we share the same studio so i still get to use it whenever and we have a z2 and a rane 62 side by side for scratch session and i love the new Z2 fader they sent

 

Oh my, ok I see then. Well looks like here I go and open a case up with NI tech support! lol Hopefully they take care of me as they did you! Well what made you notice the difference the most once the new crossfader was sent? Did it look the same as the old mini innofader? Ok well hopefully it doesn't take as long to get replacement but here goes nothing!
