    Hello,

Can someone help me with this problem. I have set the Traktor crossfader to sharp in the settings but it's still no way near sharp enough. If I set it to sharp I want instant cut in to scratch. What's the point in having a sharp setting if it isn't even sharp.

Does anyone know a way I can get a more on/off cut like it should be?

It's definitely sharp enough, software wise. The software just responds to when your controller sends the note on message. If your controller's xfader travels a while before it sends the message, it can feel like it opens slowly.

Also your latency settings can have an impact, if sound is dragging behind your actual hand movements.

My xfader only needs to move a hair before it's fully open.

The thing is I tried both my vestax spin and Session X in Ableton with the fast cut on the xfader and its instant, when I try the fast cut on Traktor it fades in on both devices. When you have the xfader curve on fast cut in Traktor and move the virtual fader you can hear the fade which does not cut in like it should do.

Can you try your virtual fader and see if it cuts straight in?

It does, but I use a VCI-100, which has it's own crossfader curve adjustment. So I'm not really sure how the Spin/TPro combo works...

Sorry, I mean does your traktor software fader cut straight in? I'm using 1.2.4

What version are you using that has the internal fader cut straight in then?

Oh well, looks like i'll be switching to Virtual DJ then. I don't seem to be getting the answers i'm looking for.

Virtual DJ has a nice on/off (scratch) fader cut that can be assigned to my midi crossfader. It's funny that Traktor has the word "scratch" in the title, yet the internal fader can't be assigned as a scratch fader due to the curve.

Did you check the mapping for you crossfader to make sure it's set correctly. I use the NS7 as an alternate setup and my fader cuts sharp.

Try re-mapping the fader incase it's not set correctly.

Like I said in my previous post I tried both my vestax spin and Session X in Ableton, deckadance & VirtualDJ with the fast cut on the software xfader and its instant and works like how it should do, when I try the fast cut on Traktor it fades in on both devices. When you have the xfader curve on fast cut in Traktor and move the software fader it fades in and does not cut in.

Traktors internal software fader does not cut in like it should and both my midi controller crossfaders mimic what the software fader does and on the sharpest setting it still has the fade.

I did call Native instruments and they told me "every software company has their on settings for a fast cut and that is what traktors sharp setting is set to"

I was really angry after this response because everyone knows the sharp setting should mean cut on/off especially if the have scratch in their title!

Some guy did try to get the internal fader to do an instant cut with a modifier via button but it didn't work. How absurd is this? it's like we have to do software credit card mod.
