For most, this feature isn't important. But for a club DJ that does private events with dinner and cocktail time, this is CRITICAL. I was just checking out the cruise feature because I want to start using it. I don't like the way it works....and I think that I understand how it works...

As it currently works - you engage cruise and you have the ability to set your automatic cross-fader to a certain amount of time, that's nice, but won't work for all songs since the endings are quite different in timing. So, there's the Fade IN and Fade OUT markers. I tried these.

I engaged in the control panel that I wanted to use the Fade IN and Fade OUT markers. But, all the Fade OUT does is fade the music out, it doesn't start the other song at this point in time. From what I can tell, even though the sound faded out - the cruise function is still following the determined amount of time that you have set for your automatic crossfader.

Does anyone know differently? Am I doing something incorrectly?

I know that in Traktor 3 it worked similarly, but if you engaged the Fade in and out, when one song hit the fading out marker and was fading, the other song started. I think there was some other option not present in Traktor Pro.

This is really annoying....making me think that I am trying to make something work when it doesn't. Anybody else here using Cruise?

    Hi, it´s a bug!
Cruise runs only with "Keylock" off and in Prefs: "load next at end of track" on.

Wrong on both accounts. Pay no attention to this man.

KKorpos, that's an interesting find. So I assume that you've enabled the option in preferences to not ignore the Fade In/Fade Out markers...that's why your tracks are fading out.

I'd file a bug report? Unless someone has more information on this...

Correct, I have it checked off to use those, well, this is one of the ways I tried it. Thought that I could then adjust as to where I want one song to end and another to start when in Cruise mode. This doesn't seem to be the case.

For Cruise to be effective - the user MUST have the ability to set points for the song to begin fading out and the next song to start playing. Otherwise, this feature is very ineffective in the sense that all song endings are different, having different amount of fading out times, some ending cold, etc..

Try this: don't use Cruise mode, use Fade Out / Fade In cue markers and activate them in the settings menu. BUT this means you'll have to do a manual crossfade, dumb but it might help you a little.

I agree that more control over fade in/out behaviour would be good, especially for toilet breaks ;-)

How are you going to automatically play the tracks then?

They do play automatically, just the crossfade isn't automatic

    guys, what's wrong with you?

activate the fade in/out markers in the prefs, load the first track and hit cruise => fading via the fade in/out markers works!

Well let's see...I have 3 nipples, 6 fingers on my right hand, 6 toes on my left foot, anal fissures...

...I mean the list can go on and on...
    ---
Well, okay...3 nipples isn't really bad I guess.

Just the two nipples here too

I have no problems with getting Cruise to work, only with the way it does ;-)

I was just trying to help Kkorpos because he seems to want to have more control over crossfade - in Cruise mode, the crossfade is always set to the same length. so if you're not happy with that, the only option seems to me to be what I suggested.

Personally I'd also like to do something sort of similar, which also isn't possible at present - set an automatic 0 second fade with the fade out cue. You can do that too in Cruise - but again, only if you want all the tracks to do that.

It'd be nice to have built-in options on fades to define them individually.

I tried entering fade in and out points selected "fade in and out markers" hit cruise and just like KKorpos, it does not work. I have had no problem with cruise control just getting the fade in and aout to work.

It pretty much seems like this works for others, but not nearly all. I personally have had some strange things happen while "cruising" (it might work just like intended for a while, but suddenly just stop working) and because of this I've decided to wait for the next release and see if things have gotten better... and if not, start complaining louder :)

I commented about this in some other thread some time ago, but can't seem to find the posting at this point...

I'm actually having an OK time with cruise but I don't use it all that often. My buddy and I created long mixes back in our CDJ days and so now if I want to take a long breather during, say, dinner, I load up the WEDDING DINNER SET 1, which is an hour long and features music that is guaranteed NOT to make you want to get up and dance, because hey, it's freaking dinner. Sit down and enjoy your overcooked steak and/or dry chicken breast.

FTR I don't have a single fade in or fade out point set on any of my many tracks. I've been too lazy and I don't use cruise enough to have to. Plus at dinner no one cares if there's a long fade in anyway.

It will be nice that for automatic cruise mode could set a crossfader curve with time also! Tnx

My experience: fade-in/out points are nothing to do with Cruise. In fact, fade-in and out markers only set where track b begins relative to track a, nothing fades in or out. Cruise does fade in or out but is not designed to work with fade markers.

I use fade markers with tracks which are otherwise very difficult to mix - eg when a sync is impossible and track b has to cut in at a very precise time in track a for it to work.

I'm with those that DON'T have it working. I followed the instructions in the manual, I've read up and down this thread, and it STILL doesn't work. What to do now?
