Cruise Function

Cruise acts completely wonky. I cant get it to play from just one playlist or in order. It just jumps around randomly in the collection. Thats completely useless. And what happend to the "current playlist"? I totally use that as a holding area for tracks when playing live! and not to mention autoplay.

I cant stand the fact that this is supposedly there new robust version of traktor and it still is buggy as hell! Looks like it time to go backwards.

 

Traktor 2.6 was the best! No effects but smart gui and great way of organizing your sets. Not to mention Autoplay.

Same problem here with the cruise function, useless and annoying...

 

I was rather baffled by the fact that the fadein/fadeout -markers don't actually work when the cruise mode is enabled. I'd say that that is exactly the time I would want the application to use them (instead, they do work as I'd expect them to any time when cruise is not enabled). This caused a bit of headscratching on my part...

 

I am joining the club that is baffled by the CRUISE function. I can't figure out what "playlist" it works from. I have yet to get it to play consecutive tracks on one of my i-tunes playlists. Any help greatly appreciated.

Commentary -- I am a new DJ and this Cruise or autoplay function is really important to me. It makes me want to NOT dive into the complex features. This seems like a very basic feature. If they can't get that one programmed right then what does that mean for the rest of the application? I want to invest in learning the application over the long term but this is REALLY annoying.

 

I have no issues with Cruise.

It plays from whatever playlist you currently have selected on the screen. Seriously.

 

you're missing the point.
cruise works from only ONE playlist. the one you started cruising in.

 

I notice that it will continue playing which ever playlist you bring up on the screen. Including searches and stuff.

 

No really.....it doesn't work

I have tested the CRUISE function about 8 times and it has yet to play a track that I can predict. I also had the experience that a song wouldn't stop playing.

When you look at the manual guidance on CRUISE and then you see how it performs you can't help but conclude that this feature just wasn't designed and tested properly.

For a so-called market-leading product this is really dissappointing.

 

You stated it doesn't work in youe "iTunes playlist."
I believe it's designed to only work in Traktor playlists. Try importing the iTunes playlist into Traktor. I think you'll find the behavior you are looking for.

Thank you -- you have enlightened me. Lesson that is not apparent in the user manual is that a Traktor does not recognize an i-Tunes playlist as a playlist. I notice that if I drag the i-Tunes playlist to the Traktor playlist then it is working.

That experience was like removing a painful splinter --- well done, thanks again.

uhmmm... wasnt that a new 1.2 feature? i'm sure it didnt work that way in the beginning of TSP.

 

the manual author thought that it would be common sense that if not mentioned otherwise, with "playlist" only traktor playlists are meant. the manual author will add a hint next time
