I'm a wedding DJ and I would like to use cruise mode during cocktail hour and dinner. It works flawlessly from when you initially click on the cruise icon when deck A is playing and nothing is in deck B. However when I need to play a track for the grand entrance I deactivate cruise mode and play the song and do my intros.

There is a time when I have no decks playing when someone is using the mic for the blessing of the food, toast etc. After the blessing of the food is ready I want to go back into cruise mode to finish the dinner music. Considering there are now 2 songs in both decks if I play the first song and hit the cruise button it would automatically play the other song in the next deck and it doesn't matter if i started the play the 1st song on deck A or Deck B. Sometimes it won't automatically play the next song when 2 songs are both loaded in Track A and B.

I wonder what enables or disables clicking the the cruise mode to start the next deck or simply cue it for it to fade out at the end of the song like I want it to. Does Traktor get all screwed up when you go into cruise mode then go back into it? Or if you stop both decks playing while on cruise mode does it create a glitch? I need some insight, because I had a situation when after the toasts I would start playing a song in Deck A and I would want to activate cruise mode so I can walk up to the buffet once i click the cruise icon the next song automatically fades in. It's embarrassing and it makes me look bad does anyone have any suggestions?

I have experienced what your talking about. I don't use cruise often so its not that important to me but i was curious why it happens and if this is a bug or a setup/user issue.

My suggestions is to open a ticket with support and report back what they tell you.

I had an issue with cruise mode aswell:
I was in cruise mode and Deck A & B were playing the same track due to my faulty arrangement in the playlist.
I have the option about duplicated tracks activated, so suddenly both songs played on air in cruise mode.
Trying to stop the decks was not possible! Pressing Cue and Pause didn´t result in stopping one of the decks whether via midi controler nor via mouse clicks. Deactivating cruise mode had no effect, too.
Only scrolling to the track´s end helped to stop that scenario.

This occured only one time and I haven´t managed to reproduce this behaviour.

Hopefully, 2.9. fixes more bugs than it brings.

This is definitely an issue I've encountered as well with my "Pre-Party" playlist in Cruise Mode. Cruise mode will sometimes just disable itself in thre middle of playlist. Using 2.6.8

You could try stopping cruise fade the song down, then unload the decks. load the next song in the playlist start that when necessary and turn cruise back on.

For the problem of both decks improperly playing in cruise mode, the solution I have found is to first take the decks out of Cruise Mode. Manually stop the deck you don't want to be playing and align it to, say, the beginning of the track. Allow the current track to get near the end, as it gets to the point of your fade interval (15 seconds or whatever you have set in settings), then activate Cruise Mode. The transition will happen and Traktor's Cruise Mode will load the next track- it will be stopped and all functioning will resume normally. I like others have not had a chance to test and retest this because I cannot create the problem (it seems to happen at random), but I have done this several times and it seems to allow things to normalize.
