Cubase and Komplete Audio 6 Setup

I have issues in my setup whereby I always get a sort of lag with pops and clicks, when playing even the most simple instrument. This has been going on for as long as I remember, but try my best to workaround it even though it is very problematic. If for instance I load up one single VST, let's say Serum with a simple saw pad and reverb, then write out a 7 to 9 chord ambient pad, and press play. The playback will almost instantly start to lag.

I asked this on Steinberg last week and while I got some help, it still persists. My Audio processing details are as follows:
Sample Rate: 44100
Process Buffer: 128
USB Buffer 1ms

Release driver when app in background is unchecked.

Processing precision set to 32 bit

My System setup:
Windows 10 x64
Cubase 10.5 Pro
Intel i7 4790K 4.0Ghz
8GB Ram
2TB Samsung SSD

Any setup tips would be appreciated.

Tried setting your buffer to 512?
