Cue in Scratch not accurate?

I'm using Traktor Scratch Duo with the Audio 6 interface. I am having problems getting cue to work as it would with a cd.

If I get a track in time and cue it to a point where I want to start, hit cue and it never comes in instantly like it would with a cd. It either comes in early or late, and it seems to go either way randomly.

This means I have to push/pull slightly to get it back in time by which point it's later than when I'd like to mix it in.

How do I get around this problem?

there are the Snap & Quantize modes, which affect how instant the reaction is. They are separate options - play with them to see how exactly they affect the behaviour. On the UI, you will see the commands below the master level knob.

there's also a preferences, which controls if the action is performed upon the hit or the release of a button. It is in:
Preferences -> Transport -> Cue Play (CUP) Mode.

Thanks for the replies but nope, it still doesn't work. It seems some CDJs are more responsive than others (there are even differences between the same models). I've tried snap /quant and about every other combination. I've even burned new timecode cds. Do people honestly use Traktor exactly as they would with CDJs? I'm really annoyed I spent money on this because as far as I'm concerned it just doesn't do what it claims to do.

Did you try changing the CUP mode hit/release option?

Yes I did, and it still varies randomly, sometimes early, sometimes late. With your setup does it work exactly as it would with a CDJ? If I am doing something wrong I really want to find out what!

How about Preferences/Transport/Sync Mode/TempSync vs. BeatSync?

Sync isn't activated, because I'm trying to mix exactly as if using cds. IE finding the right tempo with the pitch sliders, moving the track to the right start point and hitting play at the right time.

I cannot work out whether everyone else has a different method that works around this crappy responsiveness OR mine is broken. What's the deal long time trakorists, does it actually work in the way I'm trying to use it?

Edit: key lock is almost always off too so I don't think that's effecting it.

hmm weird, I have only got this problem today since I started to use the sync function and key lock.

I am only using traktor pro on desktop until i get the full traktor pro hardware, but when I press the play button some tracks don't drop in on time like they used to

IMO, it's definitely not the same cue'ing through TSP or through regular CDJ. The response of the cue through TSP sucks.

I believe NI has fixed this issue. Read the new updates in Traktor 2.1.
