I'm new to Traktor and have been getting familier with the program over the past few weeks. Last night I started editing track info (titles/artists etc..) while the track is playing. As soon as I did this all the stored cue points dissapear.
If I edit track info of a song that isnt playing everything is fine.
    Am I doing something wrong?

Added new songs today and it's still doing it. I have to make sure the track isn't loaded to a deck even just to change the rating on it or everything will wipe. :(

Pro, latest Version. I'm trying to edit in the browser window. It lets you re-type track names and star ratings. When I edit any of these while the track is playing the cue points all disspear. If I load another track first then edit the lines everything is fine.

Your own observation: editing track info (titles/artists etc..) while the track is playing
Again you observe: I edit track info of a song that isnt playing everything is fine

Also a little search goes a long way (traktor bible):

    .::. TRAKTOR 1.2.1 (R7692)
    Tips for Editing Tags
Inline Editing for tracks in Explorer node

Traktor now allows inline editing for tracks even from the node Explorer. In earlier versions inline editing was only possible for tracks that were imported into the Track Collection.

As long as the track is not loaded into a deck, inline editing from the Explorer node works fine.

However, do not use inline editing from inside the Explorer node when the track is loaded into a deck. Especially, do not use it during a gig when the track is currently playing and audible to your audience.

When the track is loaded and you press Enter after changes are made, your deck will look as shown.

    Traktor Deck

The stripe disappears, the beatmarker is gone, the BPM value is set to 0.000, and the Sync button is switched off. You will need to re-analyse and re-beatgrid the track to get the information back.
Editing tags several tracks in Edit dialog

One of the new features in version 1.2.1 is the ability to change and correct the Autogain value, that Traktor detected during track analysis. The Autogain value can be changed in the Edit dialog. This works fine as long as you edit one track at a time only.

However, if you select several tracks, open the Edit dialog (maybe for changing comments ar ratings for several tracks at the same time), and click OK, the Autogain value of all selected tracks is overwritten with 0.0.

You need to re-analyse the tracks to get the detected Autogain value back.

Note: This information is based on Traktor version 1.2.1.7692.

that's why i asked from WHERE you were editing. always edit (of course in the browser window, hmpfh) from below the COLLECTION node...

Thats EXACTLY where I was editing from, hmpfh. Maybe you should RE-READ my post, hmpfh.
The point was not where the track was edited but if the track was loaded at the time.

    a) your answer to my question was:
no word about if that was below the EXPLORER or the COLLECTION node.

    b) now re-read what vibes wrote:
from below the COLLECTION node it works fine.

maybe YOU should read more carefully... *sigh*

Not sure what you're trying to argue about, maybe its that time of the month or something.? I haven't mentioned once the explorer node but for some reason you seem to be fixated on it. Vibes posted the info I needed to which I was appreciative but you felt the need to start spelling out retarded sound effects. For what reason I have no idea, maybe you're just a grumpy person?
Isn't this forum supposed to be about informing customers that have issues so they can work through them. Maybe you could start another forum where new users can go to get ragged on by snobby elitists for not being aware of every aspect of Traktor.

    entering very thin ice now.

that's why i was asking. there's a difference from where you edit in traktor's browser tree leading to different results. newbies often aint aware of that, therefore i continously have been explaining this exact point. the part of the manual also refers only to editing via explorer node, not via collection node.

only if i ask valuable questions to get issues narrowed down and getting snobby answers by newbies. if i ask you sth, it's for a good reason.
