What's up guy's! I am looking to jump ship from my crappy DVS so I am checking out traktor. I have a question.

On a stopped deck, is there anyway to make the track start when you hit a cue point? As if now I have to hold down the cue point #3 and hit play so the track keeps playing when I take my finger off the trigger.

I am not sure I fully understand.

Are you asking if it is possible to set a cue on one deck that would signal the other deck to start?

If so, then the answer is no. Though that would be an interesting feature.

If not, I don't understand how a stopped deck would hit a cue point (since it's stopped and is either on a cue point or not).

Lets say you have a trigger finger loaded up with cue points for deck A. You load a track to deck A and hit cue point #3. I want it to start playing the track at that cuepoint and not have to hit play again.

The default behavior in Traktor when a deck is paused and a cue button is pressed is to jump to the cue spot and begin playing until the cue button is released at which point it will stop on the cue point that was pressed.

If the deck is playing when the cue button is pressed it begins playing from the cue point and does not stop when the button is released.

If you would like the deck to continue playing after hitting the cue button even when the deck is stopped you would need to assign another action (play/pause toggle) to the input trigger you are using to select the cue that also tells the deck to start playing.

However, this would also reverse the behavior for hitting a cue while the deck is playing (it would make it stop)

There is probably another way to do this but I guess I don't fully understand why you would want to so I haven't looked into it very much. When I am cueing up my tracks I hit the cue button and hold to verify its the right section, then i let go to have it stop (or start) at the right point, and then I drop the track with play when it's the right time. If it continued to play after selecting a cue point you would never be able to stop it at the exact moment you want since you would have to hit pause immediately after.

Is there another explanation for why you would want to do this?

You can also press play while holding cue to have it play on after releasing cue, but maybe this is the behavior you are wanting to avoid?

I was just trying to have quicker access to my cue points. My last DVS gave direct access to cue points. The moment you hit the cue, the track plays from the cue point. And then if you stop the track, you can just hit a cue point to begin the track again.
I used this to mash up some vocal points in songs. In tracktor I guess I will have to hold down the cue to play it and then hit the play button to keep the track playing.

The other option you have is creating a secondary keyboard shortcut for your cues when stopped.

So the existing shortcuts will work in the way I described above, but then when you want it to start playing from your cuepoints and the deck is paused, you just hit the alternate cuepoint trigger which is also programmed as a play/pause toggle button.

If you have spare keys (or buttons) to program this should let it work the way you want.
