I think it's pretty much a done deal...
After all, it's their barbeque, and they'll do as they please.
Many old-skoolers will leave, and many new, young ones will jump on board.
My feeling is they're targeting the next generation of producers (who are less willing perhaps to spend on hardware), hooking them in for life with the subscription model.
Neo, where are you when we need you, lol!

I notice in NI's statement that they say they care about the employees they have let go and are trying to help them but no statements from elsewhere do anything to confirm that, quite the opposite. It really just makes me believe even more that any successes NI have are in spite of Daniel Havers rather than because of him. And just when there were signs that they were actually listening and moving forward.

That 'statement' was a classic example of wishy washy corporate speak...
It's a sad day for all of us here on the forum.
I feel like they've been stringing us along for years and have finally thrown us under the bus.
Harsh words, but that's really how I feel.

Well it's comforting I suppose that they apparently have the same disdain for their employees as they have for their users. Still if it all goes belly up they can always get jobs as pantomine villans

As for anything new by NI I don't know, NI tester. Lips are sealed. As for doing something big, you never know what the future brings. Either or when the software becomes on point, I know you will switch back. I'm personally not jumping ship, and will continue to use NI products.

Akai wouldn't be my choice personally. They are more focused on whatever ableton is doing at the moment, and I don't know how akai users get by with that software. I primarily do my music in Studio One 4 using Presonus hardware ecosystem mixed in with Maschine/Komplete Kontrol. I'd rather not be struggling having an MPC standalone with a bad workflow to finish my music. Hence the akai videos of them never showcasing users arranging music with it's own software, and the force etc. So now I use one program for everything, plus Maschine standalone because I'm comfortable with it.

After the song mode debacle and a year or so of (productively) waiting for it, I decided to make the jump to Live 10 and most recently I purchased Push 2.

    Live 10 + Push2 is the ******* truth.

Traktor is still a work horse so I’ll continue to use it until it’s no longer viable and I’ll keep my Jam for a very specific use case but you’ll find my MK3 on eBay by the end of the week.

This shows you how disconnected NI is from their user base. A lot of us expected Maschine, Traktor and Komplete to have better integration and implementation YEARS ago.

I hate to say it but they deserve to fail.

I think that quote is about how we will be "consuming/buying/accessing" the tools rather than meaning the tools will seamlessly integrate amazingly with each other, could be wrong tho.

I agree with the Abelton intergration I'm hope for other daws but they like the arrange window in live 10..
As far the the software it's like the hardware but again you have to come from the MPC world to understand it. I grew up on it and it's all I knew until I bought studio back in 2013 or 14 not sure I could get the sequencing down i love the kits and some of the work flow.. but I get what u mean..

I think one native is a streaming platform for all of there software that will be able to be downloaded and loaded into the new studio.. making all there software subscription base ..cost effective..

Might explain their apparent lack of desire to make their controllers play nicely with other software......sounds like another 'brilliant' decision................

I will say there next move will shape there future.. it is smart to target you.. I'm a tech lover but leaving my production Workstation enable even with a firewall while making beats is a no no just to stream services..

Point taken and I kind of assumed that so I still think it shows the disconnect.

    Let me digress...

Most customers don't complain so when a customer does complain companies should view the complaint as "the tip of the iceberg". Meaning 1 reported complaint = X unreported complaints. Complaints are a great place to start if you want to know what you need to improve.

Integration and implementation complaints are all over this board. I understand the need to grow the business but if you fail to reconcile complaints, you fail to retain customers. If you fail to retain customers, you impact your brand and this all adds up to dollars lost with a long enough timeline.

They've rested on their laurels long enough. They have competition in every area of their business now - unlike 10 years ago when they were first to market with everything.

    Native Instruments "One Native" platform

"a new platform is currently being developed with the goal of offering new ways of accessing the company’s core products and services, as well as complementary ones from third-parties. The centralized platform will also include the company’s expanded portfolio of loops and samples, which is currently part of sounds.com, and will launch in 2020."

Are you guys ready to pay a monthly subscription to use the Maschine software, the Maschine sample library, Komplete software, Kontakt software... ect? LOL
