In Sticky Custom Chords & Scales

This does not solve the custom chord issue in stand alone mode for the M+, as there is no PC to send midi to the M+ in that version. I cannot imagine that it whould be hard to add a custom field to the drop down for chord type (which is now "harmonizer" and "chord set") in which custom chord sets can be loaded or created.
I'd even offer my service to NI to implement it if required ;-)

 

My point is that virtual midi port implementation within M+ would resolve the custom chord issue in that we could easily create a Reaktor sketch to implement custom chords. Maschine and Maschine+ just needs to receive midi data from it's plugins (Reaktor in this case).

I do agree with you of course that their own implementation should be added to the chord mode itself, however from a priority standpoint resolving the midi input issues would open up custom interpretations of a ton of feature requests.

 

I don't have any experience with Reaktor, so if you say it whould be possible via that route in stand-alone i take your word for it ;-)

 

there is a LONG history of asking for asking to access midi out of midi vst (virtual routing if you will).. like real LONG. Custom chords and scales less so, because only cos the request didnt occur until the restricted scales and chords that we currently have were not introduced until 2.x and clearly a really simple thing to fix vs virtual ports

It seems the software is generally able to do this, since it’s possible to use a custom scale and chord set on the Maschine Jam which AFAIK is saved with the Group or Project.

The question is how to unlock this capability on the Mk3/M+.

It would be beneficial for Music, for us Artists and for NI . I need to choose chords and put them on PADs in my order and sometimes just to trigger FX or expression... Variation mode is interesting.
