Weird, maybe it only gets installed if you have installed official NKS plugins? Anyway it's where their database entries go, presumably to keep them separate from the NI stuff. The internal structure is identical to the images folder, same rules about names and location.

Planned to set this up but had no time, maybe today.
Thanks for the Ableton MIDI script good stuff:) Though do you know why ON/OFF is so terrible? The value just jumping and cycling randomly, makes it unusable.... Cheers.

I'm afraid I just followed the guidance in the script, it walks you through it really, my scripting skills are strictly limited. If anyone can improve on it please do.

All right mate, is that the script itself with the comments or is there any other guidance?

Yes the Ableton script has comments in it that you basically just follow, but I covered everything I think, I'm not sure what would improve on/off actions.

I think this is defined by the map modes... asked the internet but knows nothing about these. Maybe one of the binary ones could work, I do some tests later.

    # Enter the respective map mode for the encoders here. The following
    # map modes are available:
    # - Absolute
    # - Absolute14Bit
    # - LinearSignedBit
    # - LinearSignedBit2
    # - LinearTwoCompliment
    # - LinearBinaryOffset
    # - AccelSignedBit
    # - AccelSignedBit2
    # - AccelTwoCompliment
    # - AccelBinaryOffset

Or just simply use the buttons on the top

Yeah but I mapped the buttons to banks so people can use them to control and navigate devices like Wavetable

yeah seen that, thinking in second page in the template... i don't use wavetable but check this out with operator to see if 1 page enough. For EQ Eight on/off would be definitely beneficial...

It does say in the info I wrote that names should be lower case and not include non alphanumeric characters (even if sometimes uppercase works strangely it usually prefers lower)

Yeah, it is indeed strange. Would have never thought of that if I had not seen this topic. Thanks again!

All this info is great....thank you to everyone who has shared! However I still have a difficulty...

Following all the instructions, I was able to get Serum to work perfectly- but when I duplicated the whole process for another VST, it didn't work entirely. Specifically, I'm having troubles getting the browser in KK, or the left screen on my KK-S49MK2 to display the proper thumbnail, MST_artwork.png.

Is having a space, or a period in the vst name an issue? Can the name be too long? Can having an "&" symbol in the vendor name throw it off?

I can get everything else to work, except for this one thumbnail. I've substituted thumbnails from other known working plugins, just in case it was a png dimensions problem, all kinds of things....ideas anyone?

What's the plugin? When you open the edit box at the bottom of the search menu what is KK calling it under 'Bank' and what vendor name under 'Properties'? - these should match exactly the folder names for the folder/subfolder you put it in

Vendor name is also an editable field btw

Thanks Kymeia! That one clue led me in the right direction....however I'm still stuck.

I figured out that my problem was having non-alphanumeric characters like "&" and "." in the vendor and VST file/folder names. I made sure all of them were renamed with only alphanumeric characters, and I can now make all my native 64-bit plugins function correctly.

So that's great for my 64-bit VSTs, problem solved.....but unfortunately, I have a lot of old 32-bit VSTs which I use jBridge for. That in itself isn't a problem, except for I've been using PresetMagician to convert their presets into NKS format. Unfortunately, PresetMagician writes the tag "[jBridged]" into ALL of the files - which of course, contains brackets......non-alphanumeric characters.

The developer says this issue may be addressed at some point, but who knows when that may be....

Does anyone know of a workaround for this? Any PresetMagician users know of a fix?

Unbelieveable!! I sent off a message to J, the developer of jbridge, and he FIXED my build of jbridge. My copy no longer writes the [jbridge] tag into the VSTs. Now THAT is some excellent tech support!! Problem solved.

Good God, what if Native instruments was that responsive with their support...

Naturally, I highly recommend jbridge for bridging 32-bit VSTs into 64-bit hosts. That was a great email to wake up to- his actual response time was about 2 hours, to create a custom copy and send it to me.

Very cool - although I still think developers should know better by now than to add non-alphanumeric characters to things like plugin names etc given how it can cause such problems

I'm having trouble setting up an icon for PSP VintageWarmer. It turns out, it's in a subfolder inside of the vst folder (called PSPaudioware), and the vendor name is PSPaudioware.com. Even taking that into consideration I haven't been able to get it to work on mac. I've tried quite a few things. It's stubborn. Has anyone else set up a PSP plugin?

Hi all. Just came across this thread, because I wanted to search first before posting ;)
I was wondering if it’s possible to get a Kontakt custom instrument to show up in the Komplete Kontrol browser with its own icon and name.
At the moment, I have to navigate to it by going to the Kontakt instrument first then Kontakt’s drop down list within KK.

Obviously commercial Kontakt libraries already somehow show up in the KK browser with their own icons, but what about custom libraries?
