    Wassup guys,
I've been customizing mpc's for some years now and finally picked up maschine yesterday! I will be taking her clothes off next week, should take about a month to get the illustrator file (to silkscreen lettering back on after custom paint), wood end caps (maybe some carbon fiber ones ), color leds and whatever i come up with after starring at her for days on in.
I should have my 1st custom maschine done and up on www.16squarez.com (still under construction) within a month.
Visit www.16squarez.com for updates on customization and future 16square tshirts and hoodies.

+1 on the wood side panels - especially if it could raise and tilt the controller up a little more...having to hover directly over Maschine while using it has been keeping my chiropractor in business - pretty soon he'll be able to dedicate his entire practice specifically just to Maschine users and the neck problems related to the lack of tilt displays on the controller.

Does adjusting the screen brightness and contrast not help at all? I realise it's not an alternative to tilting but it might help. Also, you could get a laptop riser, which could also help your back and neck.

Yeah I could be way down for some side panels, seeing as how my Maschine WOBBLES on a flat surface. Mega annoying.

    +1

No one ever even complains about this. Cheesy that it won't even stay put on the desk. Just feels cheap.

Mine doesn't wobble, instead the front panel is not glued properly, and sometimes it bends in the middle. Luckily the knobs keep it in place. But I'm ok with it.

Man I would love these ideas. I love that Ski-beatz custom maschine with the wood side-panels and the white chassis. I would J*zz myself if it had different color led's, i'm thinking blue.

Has anyone found a way to customize Maschine software skin to match this hypothetical LED change?

By wobble I mean it does not stay put when playing the pads. It scoots and slides across the desk surface. The unit is not quite heavy enough or designed to actually be played. Given how dope the software has become, I think it deserves a higher grade controller. Kinda like putting a Yaris body over an Acura.

Mine actually wobbles. The rubber feet are uneven. I have to place a folded piece of paper under the back left corner. Ghetto.

That's definitely a problem with your controller & desk combo, mine has had no problems whatsoever with build quality / reliability. The rubber feet grip my desk surface with ease and I can play it pretty hard without any movement. Is your desk surface polished or varnished causing it be slick? Have you tried putting a 3 ring binder under the controller while playing? Or perhaps one of those fancy laptop stands would work better?

It could be the finish but desk have finishes you know so that should not matter. Even with most laptop stands it is so light it is too easy to slip around. I did get that brada laptop stand from IKEA. Even with that I had to put small coasters at the bottom end for grip and cushion. Then they came loose due to weak glue so I am going to super glue them on today. That should make it the perfect Maschine stand. Just think it is cheesy and that we even have to do that. Certainly not professional or worthy extension of such great software.

Anyway, would be nice to have a customized option that tilted it and gave it some weight so we would not need a stand. Even better would be an improved controller with tilt screens and a few more dedicated buttons.

    @b-righteous

I'm sorry, my friend, but it seems like you (and perhaps free hat and others) may have slightly dodgy controllers as per the wobble and instability. I usually have mine sitting on a padded cushion thing to muffle the sound made by hitting the Maschine on a desk at night (which can reverberate to the room below) but I tried putting it normally on the desk last night. Solid as a rock. I played it normally and hit and sort of tried to get a reaction out of it but still nothing. It is light but it's heavy enough not to move around here.

However, one of my knobs has a much looser action than the others, so my Maschine is in no way superior. ;)

I'm not sure anyone has a perfect one... It's the kind of perk that will make them sell for millions in twenty years. :p
