Maybe it’s just me, but I was planning to get Komplete UCE this Black Friday. I thought every year that not a new Komplete was released, the discounts were 50%. I was saving the money to jump to the KUCE.

I checked NI website EVERY DAY to see if the Black Friday deals were live, to get them.

And my disappointment today was GIGANTIC.
I know discounts are a marketing strategy, but at least for me, their income went from +800€ to +0€.

We are in a global pandemic. People is struggling. And yet some of us save our hard to earn money to get legal software (and I don’t want to say this, but there’s HUNDERS OF THOUSANDS of people “getting it for free” because they can’t pay the full price.
I understand NI is a company and they have to earn money, but Black Friday is a date a lot of people has been saving money exclusively to get specific products they can’t get otherwise. And this sudden -30%, when we came from a -50% just a couple months ago, a -50% from the Black Friday two years ago, etc, trying to push us to spend more money because “that’s what people do in Black Friday”, it’s a business move that I hope it doesn’t work well for them. They could have kept eating the VI market and fighting the fierce, abundant and GREAT competence, but instead they went for the greedy short term strategy to earn more more money.

Anyways, sorry for the rant. You can justify it as you want. You might even be right. But the disappointment I get from being close to get KUCE, saving money for a while, to not being able to get it is HUGE :(

I would just say to NI that the 30% off meant I didn’t upgrade. I am kicking myself for not taking a 50% off upgrade offer by a retailer that ended about 10 days ago as I said to myself that NI always has a 50% off offer near years end and I would rather let them have the business direct. Turns out NI just didn’t get any of my business either direct or through the retailer..

A lot of tough word here Kittus for a new member and a few things we hear literally every year no matter what we do.

You said it yourself, we literally just did a 50% off special and you had the opportunity to grab Komplete 13 at a bigger discount already (being on our website or even via retailers). I think it's a risky game to try and project what sales a company is going to do. Offers change all the time and waiting on the next one is always to be a gamble, no matter how you see it.

    Oh cry a river.

companies don’t have to discount anything…. And no one says you have to buy sh17. If it’s too costly for your tight purse strings get something else, but complaining that a discounted price is not discounted enough just comes off as entitled winging.
