d2 vs mk2 x1

hello can anyone help please ??? i was looking at hooking up my old djm-909 mixer with traktor i have been told i can use an audio 8 soundcard to do this,but i was looking for a controller to run along side this,my first thoughts was the x1 mk2 but now i am looking at the d2,is this controller more directed at stems or can you do everything on the d2 as the same on the x1 mk2,i like the idea of stems but my soul reason is to have a controller running along side dim-909 for scratching,but would the d2 be beneficial for more creative stuff,i really will appreciate any feedback on this thread due to being so undecided thanks people all the best j-lee
