daisy chaining midi across instruments?

I,m trying to route MIDI from an on-screen polyphonic keyboard in one Reaktor instrument, to a new arpeggiator in another instrument, to a synthesizer in a third instrument, and it's all polyphonic, and I can't get polyphonic midi pitch and gate events to daisychain between the instruments.

OK, I can get midi pitch and gate from one instrument to ONE other instrument using the "FROM {connection}" panel--as long as the midi out is enabled from the source, the midi in is enabled for the destination, then source midi channel matches the dest midi channel, and the source instrument is seleted and properll appearing in the instrument properties "connections" panel. Then, pitch and gate information from a MIDI PITCH/GATE OUT module in the first instrument arrives at MIDI PITCH and MIDI GATE input modules on the second instrument.

However, I can't get the MIDI pitch and gate evetns from the second instrument to a third. When I try, it plays two notes, then stops. I carefully set the two MIDI paths to use different midi channels, so the first instrument's midi doesn't get sent to the second, and I made thoroughly sure there were no midi feedback loops over several sessions and quite a number of hours. And I can get MIDI to and from an external MIDI controller fine.

But I can't get MIDI pitch and gate information daisychained across instruments. This is particularly fustrating because there appears no other way to get polyphonic information between instruments. Any one with solutions or similar experiences?

    Hi Ernest,

This could be done with the internal MIDI routing feature of R3, but it doesn't work in the R4 update... I submitted a bug report back in May, so I'm guessing this is a low priority fix (if a fix is planned at all).

This bug is a real pain - it ruined my best ensemble!

PLEASE, PLEASE, N-I - KILL IT SOON!!!!!

    peace,

    Dale

I'm very upset. Is there any information whether this is planned to be fixed in any imminent release?

If not I guess I have to built a "least recently used" voice asisgnment macro. I don't think one exists yet and I'm not surprised. It's a heck of alot of work.
