Had the same problem with 2 units. I have my third unit now. This one seems to work fine.

I had this issue, but it doesn't seem like it is still an issue. After adjusting the sensitivity, I've been golden since then. I even use the studio in controller mode to control Traktor.

I figured it was something possibly firmware/software related. It didn't seem like the pad itself was defective, and I haven't had any problems otherwise. Superb controller, love Maschine, and looking forward to see where they take the software.

I would return it as defective if you just purchased and are having this issue.

this problem was in the mk1,:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:, that i bought the first week it came out, as well, and i heard the mk2 also.. terrible quality control for a $600 - $1k products.. they must be made by and in the same factory as the akai lighted units as their quality control sucks as well, but at least with akai i was sent a new retail boxed one, on both of the 2 returns.. . at 90% on yours, that is not that off - i probably would accept that as you would only have to hit the others a hair leas hard to match... just like with an amplified instrument you can use a compressor/limiter or play, aka "knowing your instrument", with that consideration in mind. my first pad, from day one, is 60% less sensitive than the rest, but will go to about 90% if hit harder than the others. they should be within +/- 5% at most. i sent back 6 units and never received one without some sort of significant defect that affected performance, and finally gave up as it was taking so much time sending them back and forth and i was unable to use the unit for the first 5 months i had it. .. all had some sort of issue from weak pads to warped bodies... i will continue to bring this up until i receive a letter of apology and an actual brand new unit as technically, after 5 years even, NI still owes me an acceptable correct unit and as well defaulted on it's own user agreement by being unable to provide me one, since the hardware and software are said to be linked, and as well violated california state law by not providing me the option of a refund after the third failed unit and sending me brown box refurb units instead of a complete exchange for a new one. you buy a new retail item, you do not want to be told by the merchant all returns must be though the manufacturer who will replace your brand new used less than an hour unit with a refurbed one, that is what happened to me. evidently the claim of better pads on the mk2 and studio over the mk1 is not true, they just have a softer spacer under them. you can buy better pads that are perfect from a third party, but putting it in voids your warranty.

for this reason i did not purchase the studio and doubtfully will purchase the k key controllers. i am; however, content with the quality of the software.

I've got similar problem. On some pads (two at least) sometimes there is no sound when pressed. But when note repeat is on and when in recording when these pads are pressed note is recorded after pad release. When note repeat is on - notes are recorded with minimal velocity... So the problem is pad is not returning to it's default position - so when note "is still playing" another press is with no sound...

Mine Maschine Studio was giftes, so returing to shop is not possible... Also I've got only few sessions with hardware so it isn't heavy duty problem...

I had the same problem with pad 1 on my maschine studio, turning down the sensitivity seemed to help. Thank you.

A quick google search led me to this thread. My pad 4 (bottom right corner) of my Maschine MK2 (less than 3 months old, and bought brand new) started sticking... staying lit, thus, missing some hits if a drum kit was loaded.

This completely fixed it. The sensitivity setting in Preferences (in Controller Editor) was about 2/3 up (default).... I knocked it to 50%... still have good response... and no stuck pad.

THANK YOU for this thread, and this fix.

Yeah, same here. Obviously NI has a quality problem here, but the software can work around – using fix.vel. Pad mode most of the times and adjust velocities later on.

I had a similar issue with my studio. Two of the pads wouldn't always register a note release, this made it seem like it wasn't always triggering but in fact it was the release that was the issue.

I've a replacement now that sounds fine. If you need to bugger around with pad sensitivity to fix this I'd send your unit back. On a piece of hardware this pricey the pads should all work consistently.

I have the same problem with the pad 4 of my MK3.Regularly the sound is triggered only once in two or glitch..The maschine is new (barely 3 months and I do not hammer the pads). I see that multiple users are having the same problem...
    not very reassuring.

I have the problem with pad 2 on my mikro mk3. i bought the device 4 days ago.
after 2 days pad 2 was not workling properly.
i'll try to adjust the sensitivity later...
if that does not work i will return the device and get a working one (hopefully)

if all the other pads work as expected/documented and just one pad does not, it is likely the device has a defect in that one pad. as I recall the sensitivity was a global adjustment and not per pad... all the pads should be consistent within reasonable range. I have an earlier mk1 that had one pad less sensitive than all the others, but I had the device for years before I noticed it... the work around at that point is to simply increase the volume of the sample on that pad or change it in the velocity editor.. yours is new, so exchange it by all means. there are third party kits and such and as well you could get it serviced as it would be a simple fix to swap out the parts, but again, you bought a new device and it should perform as documented. the pads should all be so close in sensitivity that you cannot notice any differences with your ear.
