So I'm using Traktor 2.10 and I recently got the DDJ SX2, I've got everything mapped properly except I'm unable to get the headphone mix mapped properly. I've spent ages trying to google for the solution with no luck. I have it currently bound to one of the FX knobs(which is working fine), but it'd be nice if I could get it to work with the intended knob.

There is also a bunch of mapping on the DJ Techtools site that may help you. Let me know which one you end up using and liking.

I got a SX2 but have yet to use it with traktor.

Is the SX2 mapping fully working with Traktor, like Serato?

I tried the pioneer mapper for traktor.. everything works well but the platter response is no where near as tight as serato. Not real sure but to me it seems like serato sounds just a small bit cleaner compared to traktor when using an SX2.

So I've tried couple of different mappings for SX2.

Official Pioneer one makes opening and closing settings screen unbearably slow. Takes about 30-45 seconds to open or close settings and completely freezes main Traktor UI while is opening or closing. Its ridiculous. Other than that it works pretty well. The slowness is caused by the fact that their TSI file creates 14 separate mapped devices, for whatever reason.

Currently I am testing JaJa SZ/SX2 mapping. It works pretty well, but I don't like the fact that he changed the pad colors (your fade-in cue indicator is yellow-ish, instead of orange, so its pretty much the same as Load cue point) and made whatever else changes that he thought were appropriate.

Then there is another mapping from DJTT site. I installed it, loaded up a track, hit Play.... and immediately deleted that mapping. First of all, there is 0 documentation to what it actually does differently and second it makes your first cue pad blink like a goddamn strobe light with all kinds of colors. Almost gave me seizure.

So I am back to JaJa mapping for now, but I've read couple of reports that it made people's controllers freeze and require a reboot mid-gig.

My next step is to take Pioneer's official mapping and figure out a way to compact it into 4 or 5 device mappings, instead of 14.

Yeah that pio mapper does make the settings window almost freeze up. I m gonna try the jaja mapper. Where did you see it had freeze issues?

Anyone else got other SX2 mapper they can recommend?

    JaJa's mapping is here
    https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/3695

The other one that i've tried is this one:
    https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/5611

The second one has 5600 downloads (JaJa's only has 1388) and is a COMPLETE MESS. I have no idea who the hell has been downloading this crap.

I posted on Pioneer's forum asking if there are any plans to update/improve the official mapping, and was told by Mark (one of the Pioneer dudes) that there are no plans to do it. Hopefully when SX2 successor comes out Pioneer will put a bit more effort in the Traktor mapping and it will be backwards compatible with SX2.

Also, when you install JaJa's mapping it will create 4 separate devices. Make sure you click on each one and select IN/OUT ports in all 4, or it wont work.

I notice the Jaja mapper has better platter response than the pio mapper but still no where near that of serato with the SX or traktor with an S4.

    Dj Tchort,

I used Jaja whan I bought the SX2, so I know this mapping.

I'm using now Ronaldo Rocha's Mappings from 2.9 and I'm very satisfied.
    https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/5611

Sure he doesn't explain anything, but you should give it another try. If you dont like the pad that's blinking while playing a song you can disable it with Extreme Mapping. For me it's not so useless to know where you are, if your song is playing, if you forgot to cue etc....

After a 20mn try you are able to know every function of the mapping and adapt it as you want, but it's a solid basis.
It is 5Mb file instead of 11Mb for the Pioneer official one. So edit faster and doesn't freeze your music.
It enables the led on the platters as Jaja doesn't have.
It's easier to set and then delete a cue than Jaja
    etc.....

To get a better sound and use of the native SX2's equalizer I added an Audio 10DJ as external card that is agregated in the midi parameters with the SX2.
For a minimalist configuration or with DVS, I'm using an Audio DJ2 agregated with SX2 and the mac sound output.

NI sound cards give a pristine sound even SX2 limit the output to 44khz and you can benefit of the pioneer equalizer, better than all equalizers you can get inside traktor SP.

So you guys say, that Pionners official SX Traktor mapping is best, except long loading, right? Because I get one SX2 tomorrow and will test it, if it is big different to SZ.

I could not get the filters to work on the Rocha Mapper. Wish there was more documentation on this mapper.

Hi mate! Do you have some screenshot(s) about settings. Everything looks working but headphones not. Sound comes only through laptop..
I've tried to change outputs but no sound from SX2 straight to headphones...
