    Hello everyone,

Here I ask a simple question, which has not yet been asked about the forum, about the hardware needed to run software on the Mac Traktor pro with the Behringer DDM 4000.

I will expose the equipment I have:

    Macbook alu -
    Traktor Pro -
    Sony-Headphones MDR500

The material I plan to buy:
    - Behringer DDM 4000 about please! :))
    - USB Midi cable of this type:
    http://images7.thomann.de/pics/bdb/185425/1453683_800.jpg

-> My question is: Do I need anything else to run perfectly with Traktor DDM 4000?
(I mean by "work perfectly": controlling effects, crossfader, play the songs that are on traktor with the ddm 4000, and the pre-listening to a song on the DDM4000)

Is it not necessary to use a sound card to have both audio tracks on the traktor ddm?

A second question: What is the difference between a Hercules RMX configuration and setup with Behringer DDM 4000 + midi-usb cable?

I had initially proposed to purchase a hercules RMX, while a solution to my eyes, but the ergonomics of a mixer in the style of the 4000 DDM me particularly.

Tell me your settings from your software mixer please?
In the future, I will be surely interested in the purchase of two players to timecode, the DDM 4000 she manages the timecode?

I await your response and your opinion
To advance a big thank you!

I think you need to do some extra research.

you could use the ddm4000 as a midi controller and still use the internal mixer in traktor. but in my opinion that would be a waste of the mixer.

    But I don't think that's a good idea.
When you buy a ddm4000 I think you should use it as an external mixer. this way you can use all the features (and effects) from the ddm4000. When using the ddm4000 as an external mixer you also need an external soundcard.

In my opinion timecode is a step back from completely digital djíng. It is mainly invented to help support old cd-players who don't have midi out.

so if your buying your kit now, go digital.

To have the decks on separate channels on the DDM you will need a multiouput soundcard...

ive tried that with my setup connecting the ddm4000 to the midi on a8dj, its like taking a step back, you cant change the curve of the fader, leds dont work, you cant use any features on the mixer, just dont think its worth it. $0.02

When you use it as midicontroller it is clear that you cannot change the curve of the fader on the mixer. The faders just give out values 0-127, so the curve could only be adjusted in the software. For getting the LEDs work you have to create the respective midi command for output.

yes you can use the effects of the DDM if you still route the audio through it. Channels can be set to MIDI but with audio going through, so then you can use the effects.

    @ilex83
    How are the outputs routed?

    Outputs routed:

    MIXING MODE: external

OUTPUT CHANNEL A: m-audio fast track pro usb 0
m-audio fast track pro usb 1

OUTPUT CHANNEL B: m-audio fast track pro usb 2
m-audio fast track pro usb 3

And the other channel is not connected..

And the fader of the volume and the crossfader don't works..but I've confiugurated by MIDI.
    All the other commands work..
    =)

Of course you cannot have the prelistening... the CUE button is also set to Midi when you switch the DDMs Channel to Midi...

Use external mixing and set back the channels on the DDM to Audio.
