    Go to Preferences-midi setup-activate audio 8 midi input and output(left 2 clicks). If works you must see midi indicator flashes blue(above fx1 or metronome section).

    I mix externaly in DDM, so I suggest you use 2 audio channels and 2 midi channels, so connect your audio interface with mixer (RCA cables goes in DDM audio channel 2 and 3). In mixer MIDI settings, enable MIDI for crossfader, mic and sampler. In channel settings enable CH1 and CH4 MIDI and mute, CH2 and CH3 leave empty.
    Now connect DDM and midi interface with midi cables(midi OUT on mixer with midi IN on interface and midi IN on mixer with midi OUTon interface)

    @dejbasic I don't have a preferences-midi setup
    @cahukk1 I tried what you suggested but it did not work too.
    The midi light on and off when I put the midi assigned key. The midi assigned keys lights are off too. It's user error because I am new using midi but I don't know what I am doing wrong.

    The default midi file does not work so fixed it by creating my own after a day of youtube, now it's easy.
