Yes of course you can CUE/prelisten on the DDM. Read the manual and look for cueing/PFL section. It Will help you with such a basic operation...

    More Research is needed...

On the DDM 4000, Midi channel assignments + Headphone track CUE'ing is currently a known issue. There are a few potential solutions, fragmented and scattered throughout various forums, which are somewhat vapid and lacking true success stories with corresponding tutorials. Hopefully soon.

Currently, the ability to Cue tracks through headphones, while using Midi + Mute on various channels, is not yet possible (or, the solution has not been mapped/found). The alternative, and not a solution, is setting all channels to use Midi only, with or without enabling mute, thereby defeating the purpose of mixing Midi control and analog RCA inputs/TimeCode control, via adding the Audio 8 DJ interface. By mixing Midi + RCA input, this changes how audio and signal processing is routed and managed within the mixer, resulting in the loss of ability to Cue tracks through headphones. Work in progress...

There are a multitude of forum posts referencing routing 2 Traktor decks into an external soundcard and back into the Mixer, for Cue'ing purposes, but no success as of yet. Here are a few DJTT source links for potential headphone Cue/signal routing options, while using an external soundcard in conjunction with 2 channel MIDI control, on the Behringer DDM 4000.

Potential Headphone Cue'ing Solution: Reference link - Post #20:

Enabling Midi on your DDM 4000: Post #8: Here's a quick tutorial by another DJTT forum member.
Midi Channels marked with 'MUTE' seems to be partially associated with the Cue'ing headphone issue:

I recall a post describing that while using active Midi mapped channels, if you routed external source RCA inputs into the Mixer, the LED's would respond accordingly. The solution to Behringer DDM 4000 LED mapping lies within the Traktor Settings, that also correspond to the Midi CC settings, (NI Source: teLLy - Post #7), in the Behringer DDM 4000 PDF Manual and the images below Post #15 DJTT forum . This still did not result in the desired ability for headphone Cue'ing.

For example, if you are using two channels (Let's use Midi = ch1 & ch4, crossfader, mic, sampler banks) and leave ch 2 and ch 3 managing audio for your turntables or other audio fed into the corresponding RCA inputs...there is an issue in CUE'ing tracks on the headphone output. This will only allow you to CUE/prelisten to the Master and not the track you are wanting to Cue (on any channel).

The Behringer DDM 4000 mixer functions differently when all channels are set to use Midi vs. a mix of Midi and RCA input/output (analog). These various configurations rearrange the signal output and control interface and we will need a deeper understanding of Midi mapping and configurations. I just received a Behringer DDM 4000 and will look into the issue soon, and report. Also, Traktor Scratch Pro and the Audio 8 DJ interface are on the way as well, to add to the mix/solution.

In the meantime, here is a DJ Tech Tools post referencing potential solutions, LED mapping and Behringer DDM 4000 + Traktor TSi 2 deck, 4 deck and Full Control TSI files.

I have gleaned this from various forums, please correct me if I misunderstood any of the material.
