    Hi,
I'm about to buy a new computer, the FAQ is claiming that you just have to remove Komplete from the old PC, is it ok to format the drive instead? It would be much faster than uninstalling every Native product included in Komplete

    Thanks

You are allowed to have Komplete installed/activated on 3 computers at the same time. So uninstalling Komplete on an old computer is basically only necessary if you want to install on computer #4 (so you have 3 installs/activations in total again at the same time).

It depends on what you want to do with the drive.
Because formatting will erase all files on the drive!! (and not just the NI or Komplete related files):

So although formatting the drive is also an option, there are some things to consider in general before doing this:

    o) Are there any (other) applications, files, etc. on the drive which you want to keep or backup first?
    o) And how are you planning on using the old drive (after formatting it)? Just some examples:
    • Are you making a fresh operating system install on the old drive?
    • Do you want to use the old drive on the new computer?
    • ...

Ah, you're right, NI allows 3 activations but in this case, I will give the old PC to a charity so I plan to backup my files, deactivate every plugin and format the drive. I just want to be sure that it's ok with Komplete because it's easier than uninstalling 45 softwares

Yes, in this case formatting the drive is also OK.
