And, AGAIN we've been lied to. I am very annoyed with this. It's just very basic people skills. If someone had said "oh, we're behind with this" it would be at least polite, but we've just been ignored, given no information, and here we are again - now actually 4 months from the PROMISED release date, and still nothing to show for it. i now have EVERYTHING else for osx that i could want. EVERYTHING. the OS has been out for pretty much 3 years now, and there is no excuse for not having ported this across already.

Why can't NI just be honest, and apologise for LYING to us all? It is so rude to treat people like this.

In my opinion it is a joke for the PRO-53 OSX upgrade to be a paid upgrade now. It ought to be free. And delivered with a massive apology and a promise that we can expect better from NI.

So, can we expect it in January? Or has it just been given up on now? If my programmers went that far past their deadline, I would sack them.

    What a disgrace.....

I feel the same way. Surely the best way for a company to behave is to COMMUNICATE with its customers - at least if they were honest with us, we may have had more patience.
And, yes, sack the monkey that's programming the OS X update. They've lost my custom, I've had it with NI. I went out and bought the CS80 yesterday. Arturia deserve the custom. I was gonna buy the pro53 as soon as the update came out, but ran out of patience. Bye bye NI..........

We are sorry that we could not hold the November release date and that we didn't announce this earlier, but the development is really nearly finished and need just some more time for the final tests. I can assure you that's it's just a matter of days and that the release will not postponed for a month again.

    December

Come on people. Anyone who deals with software on any level knows that companies constantly promise delivery dates and almost never release product on time. Thus the term "Vaporware".

One thing is for sure from my experience with N1. At least their stuff actually works correctly unlike products like Mach 5 or BDF when they do finally release it.

Thank you for the communication, Steffen.

Rawfish, that doesn't make it ok to lie. Nor does it make it ok to ignore the issue. Just because everyone else does something, does not make it acceptable.

    Rawfish,

Maybe NI products work like 4 updates later! I have many bug probs....for example still no update for Absynth 2.0 VST! You can not edit Absynth patches in the VSTi host which makes it a preset player right now! I believe NI released Absynth knowing that the edit would not work with VST host but released anyway to meet there already very late deadline. Other wise they would have been able to simply fix it in a week or so.....it was been months which leads me to believe they have to rewrite like the whole VST edit engine. Also Reaktor really did not get semi stable till 4.04. Whatever.....everyone knows NI puts out the best product while being the worste company when it comes to coustomer support. Who cares bring us Pro-53 soon....and hopefully it will be clean.

    Well It says December

On the compability chart but the last changed date hasen´t change, strange :)

Well I really hope you will stand by your statement that it´s only a matter of days. Let me just clarify, when someone says "a matter of days" I interpret it as 2-3 days not 10 or 25 or 30 days.

Funny how it was December before they changed it. 3 days into December now. Status update, please?

Pro 52 for OSX / RTAS format?

I also wonder what will happen to us poor Pro 52 users?

    - I assume that the upgrade policy has been established by NI? If so, can somebody explain how it will work for those of us who have Pro 52 from the Digidesign bundle?
    - Hopefully it will be a case or going direct from Pro 52 (Mac OS9 / RTAS) to Pro 53 (OSX / RTAS format) in one simple upgrade?

    Kontakt is released

And it was set for a dec release but the Pro-53 that was supposed to be realesed in aug-sept-nov (then moved to dec) is still missing?

I find this strange that you don´t put all you resources to things that already is 4 months off track?

Well just a rant and I only complain because I really miss Pro-53 :)

    :)

Now, now....no need for so much violence :)

Seriously, though, I fully understand your views. I am also waiting for an RTAS functionality (to use Absynth 2 within ProTools) since August. I paid my money for the upgrade from V1 to V2 and still there is nothing.

I have a similar wait for upgrading Pro 52 to 53 (OSX , RTAS) and I just feel rather cheated.

It would be funny if someone would have made a NI LIAR CHART.....like the OSX release one and than take info from forums and **** and see how much they lie. NI like that kid in middle school who couldn't just tell the truth casue it wasn't good enough he had to lie about stupid **** all the time. NI is run by a monkey in a wheel.

-NI says (make something up here)

    And AGAIN

And now the "matter of days" is 9 days. If you do this three times, it will be a month again, and pretty much 2004.

A status report? How long are we actually away from release?

And how about a realistic and HONEST answer?

    Paid update

A shame that we have to pay still. But at least it is here.

    I shall buy/download it tonight.

    Thanks, Steffen.

    :)

    Thanks.

    - I'll try it out also. Just paid and downloaded the file and will install it tonight too. Quite looking forward to seeing the old "53" back in action...

    - Just wondering if there is a .PDF manual included in the download package? I never had a manual with the bundled version of Pro52 (I am upgrading from Pro 52 for Digi 002 to the Pro 53 RTAS OSX version).
Oh well, i'll find out tonight.

    Thanks! Finaly :)

I bought the update and have been running Pro-53 in Logic 6 OSX and it´s been so much fun to play with Pro-53 again.

Now I know why I missed it so badly :)

    Very nice...
