I have a real confusing problem, and it makes no sense to me why it's happening.

    I have a Macbook with 10.4
    Hercules RMX
    Stanton DaScratch

I was playing and all of a sudden i realized deck be was noticeably lower than the rest of the decks, at first i thought maybe the RMX sound card went bad or something, but i switched (duplicated) the song to all the other decks and they sound fine. I then switched over to my built in output and it too plays deck B lower. I've checked the volume settings, gain, xfader, everything I can think of. I even checked the settings in the sound preferences for Mac. This is really frustrating...

This has happened to me on various occasions, with different set ups. Could never figure it out, just restarting, reconnecting everything, starting with new tsi files and eventually it worked. Sorry.

Check effects aren't on for Channel B too. Good luck.

Well, i guess that isn't as bad as reinstalling... but ugh

File a ticket with support, maybe it's something you've missed.

I had a similar problem a few months back, it turned out that the effects on the 'quiet' deck were switched on.....

if you mean the simple effect #1 and #2, both of them are off, and there's no effects lit up

Alright... This is really freaky but here's what I found (that doesn't help me at all):

When I turn on effect 2 for Deck B as the turntable FX and hit the break, then kill it, the volume goes back to normal, however If I go to deck 1 (this was done with a duplicated track) I hear white noise in the back ground (i.e. it sounds like crap). So when I turn off effect 2, the noise goes away, but my deck volume goes back to being low...

    what...
    the...
    heck...?

What sound card are you using?

I'll put up my tsi for you to try, but it will only work off the keyboard as I use either timecode vinyl or a VCI-100.

EDIT: Forget what I was saying, just read you use a RMX soundcard so I guess it would be totally pointless for you to try and use mine - completely different hardware.

Yeah, I know it's not the sound card because it does it in the built in output as well, i did a complete reinstall, even wiping my collection (backed up ofc) Got everything up and running and i imported my old TSI... well it had the same problem, so i went back to the defaults, then only uploaded my MIDI controller settings and it seems to work fine now...

Your effects are off, but have you checked that the filter is off as well? Only a liitle bit of this will reduce the volume.
