Deck C & D hardware

Hey

can you please release add on decks so can run 4 decks natively with their own pitch faders and jog wheel

I realise the X1 kinda fills this gap at the moment but a dedicated deck that matches the existing deck layout would be more consistent in use

you mean add or modify the controllers Physically ?

 

I think he means a separate controller which copies the 'deck' from the S4. Separate USB plug, no audio interface. Just for single deck control.

yes that's an option but he would have 2 mixers when one controller already has 4 channels.Also it would be double the price

 

Thats what i am suggesting....i have 4 channels on the mixer 4 decks in the software ...but only 2 dedicated decks on the hardware....i have considered a x1..but would prefer the same form factor .

so yes NI please make Addon Decks!

There ain't nothing you could do with 2 hands and 4 platters that you couldn't do with 2 platters and this:

There's loads of stuff you could with footswitches and 2 platters that you couldn't do with 4 platters though.

eg:

- swapping decks in and out of your scratch whilst scratching with both hands
- adding or taking decks out of your scratch whilst scratching with both hands
- triggering fx or button transforms whilst scratching with both hands
- switching decks or scratching several decks simultaneously AND triggering fx whilst keeping ONE hand on ONE platter and one on the crossfader (you might need to be good with your feet for this one).

etc etc etc... is that creative enough for ya?

Horrible idea in my opinion.

 

Without talking about any use in conjunction with the s4, a controller reflecting the layout of the deck's part(s) of the s4 would be a great addition to the range. There are many people who buy not-so-good controllers trying to reflect a deck and a platter, NI would come with a great competitive product.

 

Maybe 2new controllers :
1 s1 or x2 with sames size as s4 deck and another one BIGGER . Something with good & bigger jogwheels (like pioneer cdj2000) with soundcard and Cdjs are history !
