    Autosync Problems

    Hi everybody,

I bought the Traktor DJ MIxer Online and got V1.02. But there are some problems with the bpm - matching in autosync mode.
    For example:
    - On the Deck A plays a track with 140 bpm
    - autosync is enabled
    - the crossfader is completely set to deck A
    - I load a track to deck B with 130 bpm
Now the NOT playing track should be pitched to 140 bpm. But instead of this the playing track in deck A pitches down to 130 bpm! A good thing to get attention from your audience, but not very good for a cool mix.

The same happens sometimes when monitoring the "passive" deck. When you stop and start the track the "active" deck tries to pitch in.

The described problem happens not allways. Switching the autosync modus off and on again solves the problem for the next few tracks, than it happens again.

I never had this problems with TDM V1.0. But within the nexr few month I will change my hardware and will need the audigy support.

At the moment I use a Toshiba Satelite 4320 Notebook with 650 Mhz and 192 MB RAM only with onboard soundcard. running on win2000

After talking to the programmers, NI has acknowledged a bug in the software: When switching between deck A and deck B with the spacebar, sometimes TDM looses the focus of the active deck, followed by the above described problems.
I was told that in summer 2003 a new version of TDM will be released.
A little bugfix before that would be nice, wouldn't it...? :)

    Best regards

    Or...

I avoid using "focus" and "nonfocus", and click the Sync button next to the track I want synched. So, I load 140 BPM into track A. Then I play it, crossfader to left. Then I load a 130 BPM track into deck B (up to here, the same as you). Then I click the Sync button on deck B, and it pitches it up to 140 BPM.

Actually, I don't even do that. I have keyboard shortcuts on Deck A Sync and Deck B Sync.

But I don't use them either ^_^ Instead, I use my Oxygen 8 keyboard, and have different keys mapped to Synch A and Synch B.

By the way, why is "Synchronize" shortened to "Sync", and not "Synch"?

    Hi Bugbread,

thanks for your reply.I guess we're talking about 2 different products :)

I guess you mean the TD Studio, but the described problem comes with the TD Mixer. It's the small brother of TD Studio. It has not the functionality like the Studio version, but it's okay for home and party mixing and even for creating nice all-in-one mixes to burn them on cd...if it works correctly ;-)

Why "sync" instead of "synch"? Hmm, my english is not always the very best and so I sometimes got some help here:

    Best regards
