Decoupling from host transport in Plugin Mode - using Pro Tools as a Maschine mixer

I have searched through the forum and do not see this as an option. I use Maschine inside Pro Tools HD - and I freakin' love it. There are lots of times where I would like to be able to work on something specifically in Maschine independent of Pro Tools. Is this possible at all? Is there a way (config setting or some such thing), that can toggle the transport lock on off? If not, it would be brilliant. "On" - Maschine locks to Pro Tools - "Off" - Maschine runs off its own internal sequencer (presumably remembering the last tempo it got from PT). In this latter mode, Pro Tools becomes a giant Maschine mixer.

I have been using it that way even with the transport locked. Work on sequencing inside Maschine, route audio out the 16 outs into PT... sample into Maschine from PT tracks. Often I do this with MIDI stuff. Record the MIDI in PT, tweak it up - and then sample the whole audio phrase into Maschine (there is just something about triggering musical phrases via pads that lends itself to creating an arrangement). Then, once I have the basics all worked out and I want to move back to PT for final arrangement, automating and mixing... I record the 16 inputs from Maschine bak in PT. Very flexible - very, very cool.

Maschine is LOCKED to Pro Tools sequencer. No options.
