Bear with me as I'm new to Maschine (and limited in DAWs so far) and this is my first post here. :)

I have it working so that I have midi in my DAW (reaper) and it is sending the events using the 'midi as channels'. In order to do that I have to load the plugin, load a group, and then go into each instrument (1-16 of the group) and set the Source to Host and then set each instrument to channel 1, 2, 3, etc..

Is there a way to load a group where it defaults to instrument 1 listening on channel 1, instrument 2 is listening on channel 2, etc?

This seems like the normal use case... I get that sometimes you want the flexibility of routing a channel to a differently numbered instrument.. but by default when you export the midi from Maschine (drag and drop) to a DAW, it puts instrument 1 on channel 1, instrument 2 on channel 2.. so I would assume there is a way to then load the group that automatically defaults to that. Is there some config/setting I'm missing to enable this?

** Edit: I have a Maschine Mikro MK3, but specifically this question is about the vst plugin of Maschine.

You can set up the MIDI IO of an empty Group, save it then make sure to always load that first before loading instruments.
Or make a template project with everything already setup and enable it in the Preferences > Default, so each time MAS starts it loads your template.

    Do it as D-One said.

Maybe it is helpful to be aware of the +ROUTING button within the Maschine browser (only for groups):

    Awesome. Thank you both!

I'll give this a run tonight.
