OK, you can cut out the joking now. Put the Delete key function back in. I know you don't want me to use the right-click menu every single time. I know you woudn't intentionally remove this feature that's been there since v1.0, so stop kidding around, NI. ;D

Am I missing something? Is the delete key not functioning anymore?

    bduffy-

The delete key still works for me using Kontakt 2.0 and now, 2.2, in Cubase 4, Windows XP. I use a Logitech cordless keyboard/mouse combo (diNovo) using the native Windows XP drivers only. If I remember correctly, you also seem to have a problem with your scroll wheel, which I can't confirm on my machine. In fact, these two "keycommands" are the only two that work for me when using Kontakt as a plugin. Are you using 3rd party drivers for your keyboard/mouse?

No, I'm not using anything custom or 3rd party. At work I'm using a standard Microsoft Internet Keyboard and an older Intellimouse, at home it's a new Microsoft wireless desktop. Every version of Kontakt has had a working delete key for me - wait, no; there was one update a long time ago where the delete key went away, but it was restored.

The Delete key isn't working in Sonar either.

Man, this is such a pain.

NI cancelled all the key commands in the K2 updates, I requested tech support on it after the 2.11 update...

They mailed me that they have disabled these function.

I hate it too :/ ****s up your workflow really bad

Wow, that's seriously frustrating and disappointing. All this money I've spent, and another basic, crucial function has been removed. Oh well, off I go to write another e-mail to support...

    OT:

I just installed out of curiousity the NI SC. and updated to K2.2; I used the offline procedure...

I did not have any troubles * all, this was the first time that an update went as a warm knife through butter.

Just wanted to say that :)

Yeah, you got it: I didn't use it that much. I'm glad yours is going smooth as butter. As far as I can tell, this is the worst update of Kontakt in years for me. I'm going to have to go back to 2.1 now.

I'm able in 2.2 to delete sounds from the main window using the delete key, as well I went into editing the mapping editor, and selected a zone(turned it yellow) then hit the delete key and it deleted it. then ctrl z undeleted it

As a VST plugin? The only thing that works for me is the up/down arrow keys on the Browser.

umm, nope. i was using the standalone version. dxi and vst versions aren't working, though I am still able to delete sounds from the main window...

this is silly to remove these important features

what's next, a visual qwerty keyboard we have to use the mouse to type into?

You're able to use the delete key to delete sounds from the Mapping Editor? I can't do that. Plus a I had to install a 3rd party product to be able to use the scrollwheel! I notice that all of NI's products now pretty much steal the input from Cubase; FM8, Massive, etc.

Conclusion: NI just doesn't care about this. Obviously, they LOVE having to switch focus manually from plug-in to host. Oh, it's just SO wonderful! Thank you SO much, NI, for this excellent feature, and for removing simple, useful tools that came with version 1.0. Thanks for taking my money for it too, ya freaks. Oh, and I love the new, extra-long, extra glitchy loading and closing times. Wonderful, nice touch. Keep it up.

What's wrong with you, NI? Don't you use this software???

    Harumph.

"Main sound window" - sorry, don't know what that is. Don't think it works at all for anything over here.

I'm just talking about the main window... when you open up a sound, it creates a widget for it in the main window, from there you can enter the editing screens for the sound.

Just because this is so much fun...I think you mean when you load an instrument module in the Instrument Rack? Yeah, I think you're right (can't check now, converting some avi's) - you can delete those with the keyboard. What a load of crap! Get it right, guys, already.

Yep. You're helping, and I appreciate it. It is very frustrating, because NI charges for "updates".
