Isn't that essentially what the Remix Decks are for ? or am i not understanding what you mean.

 

This ability plus my suggestion to assign individual sub channels to mixer channels would be killer.

It's not clear for me why NI is not building on this awesome ideas to make Traktor stand out from other DJ Software. What is preventing them to make the next step ?

 

yes, it is similar to the mechanics of clips, but this feature should work together, not separately. You can't drop track in remix deck, it doesn't work by default

3. Increase the stem to 8 channels.
If you have tried at least once to prepare a track for playing in daw (like fl studio, ableton), you could make sure that this is hellish work. Although there are such controllers as akai mpc40 mk2 or launchpad and others, but Ableton's main problem is the terribly tedious process of preparing a track, you need to be a half-programmer to be able to do this. Therefore, I suggest that the Traktor be as versatile as a daw, but as easy to use as a dj program. Expand your pickup to 8 tracks and let it work out of the box with controllers.
4. Add the ability to create a stem file with 8 channels from 25-30 daw channels in the Stem Creator

 

That is a great and creative idea. NI should really consider this.

Dude, have you been under a rock or something? The stem format has been dead and gone for YEARS now.. So, why on earth NI should waste valuable time & resources on something that has no industry support?!

There are far more critical areas that need a lot work (such as complete stability, better keylock algorithm, retina support, better library management, etc) before we can talk gimmick again..

 

Stems are fully supported form the higher range NI controller hardware.
Remix Decks and Stems are the 2 main features which makes it worth to go with Traktor Pro.
If you are not using it why not to go with Serato or Recordbox.

Honestly I never found any Stems I would buy but you can make your own and this is great to bring in more creativity.

Its gold if you are a producer and for many still a reason to buy a S8.

 

Gimmick, You say?
Remix decks are the only reason I still use Traktor. The workflow of Remix decks is making them the best dj sampler on the market to catch loops on the fly and fast rearrange a track. If stems could be more flexible like Almaz says, we could take it to the next level. I rather skipp the RETINA support (and yes, I use a macbook pro 15" with retina display).

 

The stem does not have industry support because it has stripped down functions, which is why the dj is not interested in it. I bought my S8 precisely because hoped on the stem, I was even ready to listen to thousands of non-names on a bitport in order to buy something and use it in my mixes, but after studying this format, I realized that it is not particularly useful and fun for DJs.

 

in general I suggest making the scene functions, clip triggering and sequencer in one deck, and all this functionality will work for the stem file.

Imagine that you created a track in Machine 2 using Machine +, and then you simply saved it in the Stem format and dragged the deck into the traktor. In the traktor deck, you can unfold the whole finished track in the opposite direction and easy manipulate it

 

Stems were a colossal failure and arguably the downfall of Traktor as a brand (fact). “Stripped down functionality” was never the problem, the industry as a whole never embraced stems because there was little-to-no-incentive to release music in such a format (fact).

NI should just get rid of this proprietary bullsh1t format once and for all, and FOCUS on stability and features that WORKING PRO DJs are asking for years!
