OK, I have updated to Kore v2.01 and updated the sound database. It appears that Kore v1 software and Application Support files together take up about 1 GB of hard disc space. Is there any reason to keep Kore v1 software on my system? And, how do I avoid deleting the Kore hardware driver? And can you provide a confirmation of the location of all Kore v1 file locations that can be deleted? Thanks, CS.

1 GB? Are you sure about that one? Kore 1 uses up a lot less here.

I can't think of any good reason, to be honest. And, as far as I know, the hardware driver shouldn't be removed by the uninstaller when you uninstall Kore 1.

As to what can be deleted- first, back up your Kore 1 factory sounds; I've had uninstalls where I've lost them and others where they've remained. Best to be safe here.

Now, your Kore program folder may be left behind; that of course can be removed. If you've moved your Kore 1 performances to a different location, the folder My Documents/Native Instruments/Kore can be removed.

The folder Documents and Settings/Local Settings/Application Data/Native Instruments/Kore sometimes gets left behind; that can be removed.

The folder Program Files/Common Files/Native Instruments/Kore can be trashed as well.

Those should be the only folders relating to Kore (besides the one in the start menu).

So Kore 1 has some factory sounds not in Kore 2?

(I'll have to do this same operation in a couple of weeks)

Yep. The 1.0 and 1.1 factory content aren't in the Kore 2 sounds installer.

    EW,
You are correct, it is not or near 1 GB. And, given that it is less then the 1 GB, I have decided to leave it in place in the event that older Cubase projects use the VSTi and stumble on start up due to a missing instrument. I will deal with it when I install Leopard and do a fresh install of all current software and drivers. Thanks for the quick reply, CS.

Ah... you thought of the only reason I'd keep it on- compatibility with older projects.
