How do I delete remix samples with the S8 controller? I've tried several combinations but nothing works.

    Thanks

I also haven't been able to figure it out.
The 'mapping sheet' included indicates something about the remix button and the shift button.
It works for stop, but I haven't been able to delete a sample yet.

I just got word from NI that its not possible to delete from the controller. On a Mac, you can option + command click the cell to delete. This is so LAME, the whole point of the screens are to move away from the computer.

this was why i was disappointed about machine studio. They give you the feeling, you don't need to touch the computer... but at the end they fail on basic actions. Every time you have to go back to the computer.... and lose the musical flow.

Yes this doesn't work for me either... just got the Kontrol S8 today. Will there be an update for this from NI?

That feature would be interesting, plus the prelisten and of course the spectrum colors on the screens

so far, I think the only solution is to go to midi mode (shift + right back) and map it yourself (remix deck - legacy - slot unload). Remember to assign the mapping to the right remix deck and slot.

    thanks for the research ;)

unfortunately this is a non-solution... NI really needs to get their act together given this feature is promised in the goddamn manual. how does one forget such a primary function? sigh

Why not just overwrite the current sample with the one you want to fill the cell with? No need for delete action.!. If you don't want it..don't play it.

I guess NI was thinking along these lines when designing the S8.

Additionally you can always get a micro midi controller like the 'numark orbit' and map a delete function with load sample etc... That way you don't have to touch the pc/mac.

I think this has been mentioned somewhere, but holding down CAPTURE + EDIT while hitting the performance pad will overwrite the Remix cell.
Bit of a clumsy workaround though.

I know this is an old thread, byt has anyone found a way to delete samples on the s8, or overwrite with a new sample. The manual says SHIFT+sample pad, but this does't do anything here.

NB. Just found that CAPTURE + pad overwrites that pad, which is pretty much all I need.

Still odd that we can't delete a sample though

On an F1 you need to press SHIFT and CAPTURE (DELETE) and then the pad for the sample you want to delete.
