    Hello!

I'm currently looking to upgrade my setup in a lot of ways, and after looking around for a while I'm really interested in the Denon S3700. However, I'm EXTREMELY confused by the entire hybrid works. I realize that the feature allows me to control via midi/usb, but I've seen a LOT of misleading things. Everyone listing their setup is using USB mixers, audio boxes, and time-coded CDs. This leads me to believe that all of the features that I am interested in are nearly pointless. Here's where I was thrown off...

^^^This .pdf shows how to set up Traktor 2 to use the 3700s as a source of sound (output). What made this impossible to do when TSP2 came around? I'm currently running two decks (Numark CDX) with a Xone 62 and Traktor Scratch Duo 2. Ideally, I'd prefer to ditch the Duo box so I don't have to run around with that PLUS a usb hub (which would probably add some latency issues...not to mention more cables).

I'd love some clarity on this. Does it still work? What could I do instead? I love Traktor to death. I'd really like to avoid a USB hub. Any help on this would be great.

Thanks a ton for your time!

In pc mode the 3700s can play audio from your computer, they also become midi controllers.

Some software supports all the midi features such as the rotating platter and some don't.

For the software that requires you to use a dongle soundcard for scratch control you can set the decks to hybrid mode. In this mode the 3700 will send fake timecode signals for various software so that you can have scratch control and have midi control at the same time.

If you want to use these with tsd2 you're gonna have to hook them up to your duo box (or any other NI traktor scratch certified audio interface). Just make sure that your tsd2 is mk1 timecode compatible.

Okay, I believe I understand. The 3700s can play audio, but the scratch control wont be usable unless I use an I/O interface (like the Audio 6 I currently use). I'm definitely able to use the Mk.1 timecode audio, so that wont be a problem.

Thanks a ton for the quick help! This saved me a good amount of headache. @.@

I highly recommend using regular tsp2 timecode vinyl, or using the 3700 and serato. The 3700 and traktor are a headache in my opinion. Who knows if NI will ever support them. Everyone else does, but they've so far ignored our requests for native support. I'd love to see this change however.

I have to agree with above, since I have 3700 and it's been a nightmare so far, only thing I managed to do is the regular setup with timecode...hybrid mode with custom *.tsi is a real headache....
