The Mk1 was a "Traktor Ready" controller designed for Traktor and VDJ. The Mk2 is designed specifically for Serato.

I believe the MK2 though is packaged for serato still works with the traktor same as the Mk1 but i am not 100% sure of this.

Makar i notice you have list DJM 900s…. do you have any issues with using it with traktor with your MBA? I been waiting for a Z4 but with recent hardware issues going on with NI equipment i am thinking about going all Pioneer.

This is what Denon states on their website:

This Mark 2 incarnation operates out of the box with the bundled Serato DJ Intro (upgradable to Serato DJ) and is fully MIDI compliant to work with other software solutions via supplied or created mappings.
    ……
Being a 100%, fully MIDI compliant controller, the MC6000MK2 is unlimited in its ability to partner alternative DJ software solutions, natively supported by Serato DJ (full version)*, Virtual DJ* and Mixvibes Cross*. Denon DJ supplied mappings ensure compatibility with Native Instruments Traktor software.

Which in itself is good news. Would be nice to get some real life feedback form people on the mc6000 mk2 + Traktor 2.5 combo though...

I've had 0 issues with my DJM 900, and it has worked perfectly on several Macbooks while giving lower latency figures than NI and Xone interfaces.

thanks for the info on the DJM 900.. the 900 is a bit pricey but seems well worth it. I like that you can also use them with Timecode. My only wish with the 900 was that the made one model that would support both serato & tratkor for audio interface.

After using Denon MC6000 (MK1) for more that 2 years I bought the MK2 round about 1 month ago. First I didn't got it work. After a couple of mails with NI an Denon Support I now know a little more:
The MK2 can only work in "Internal Mixing Mode" with Traktor. My mistake was, that I had to change the settings:
    Controller manager: Device + In-Port + Out-Port.
My MK2 now works fine with Traktor Pro 2.6.8.

Hi, I can confirm now that the DN MC6000 mk2 works just fine with Traktor Pro. The Denon-supplied mapping works well, with only a few comments on my side so far:

    1) Keylock buttons are mapped for the "Keylock On (Preserve Pitch)" function, which I was not used to from my previous controller. It was not very difficult to remap that for the "Keylock On" function.

    2) The "soft takeover" function of Traktor is not activated for pitchfaders. It was very easy to activate that.

    3) Holding the SHIFT button is needed when loading a track into the preview player of Traktor, which is inconvenient, in my opinion, given a few vacant buttons are available right next to the track-selection knob. Assigning this to one of the buttons was very easy.

Another thing I'm not used to is fast-searching through tracks with SHIFT + BUTTON. I have not attempted to adjust that yet, but my idea would be, as I don't use scratching at all, something as follows:

"VINYL" button = switching the jogwheel completely ON or OFF (may use this to avoid accidentally touching it during playback)
Jogwheel top = fast search through track
Jogwheel side = fine adjust track position

Denon MC6000 MK2 mapping for Traktor is available here http://www.dm-pro.eu/DocumentMaster/en/MC6000MK2_MAP_V1000S_TKP.zip and you have to change settings as DJ Humpen wrote:"MK2 can only work in "Internal Mixing Mode" with Traktor. My mistake was, that I had to change the settings:
    Controller manager: Device + In-Port + Out-Port."
    It works now just fine.

Thank you david, but I'm still struggling, i download and loaded the mapping files. my main issues are: Not being able to listen to what I'm cueing. Not being able to record my mixes and my buttons don't light up on my Mk2.

anyone else experience this? how did you sort it out.

I'm not an expert, so you've changed also settings to "Internal Mixing Mode" and
    Controller manager: Device + In-Port + Out-Port?

I made update this morning and it seems everything is ok. Go to Setting (Preferences) and in Audio Setup - put Audio Device to MC6000MK2, then go to Output Routing and put Mixing Mode to Internal, Output Monitor L: 3 Back Left; R: 4:Back Right; Output Master to L 1: Front Left, R 2: Front Right; then go to Controller Manager and turn Device to MC6000MK2 and In-Port and Out-Port also to MC6000MK2. Last thing (I don't know if it is necessary) go to Input Routing and turn deck A to L: Front Left and R: Front Right.

Please also check out "DJ.MG's official MC6000Mk2 mapping by Jay Neural".

    - Issues found on Denon's mapping like Filter buttons LEDs or Pitch adjust were fixed.

    - Overall behaves even closer to how it does on Serato (like added Loop Roll mode).

    - Added Manual Key adjust (through SHIFT-Pitch Slider) and Freeze mode in place of Censor feature which can't be mapped on Traktor anyway (it's an FX on Traktor).

More details and exhaustive list of fixes/features here :

    https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/5074

    Hope you'll enjoy.
