Native Instruments worked with Denon for the playlist integration in Engine Software. Will we see SC5000 HID support in the next Traktor Release/Update

Well, there is now a Traktor logo on https://denondj.com/sc5000prime
And it says: "plus integrated support for Traktor". I just hope they don't mean the playlist reading with this.

I'm pretty sure it's only about the playlist integration in EP.

Full HID integration would make a lot of sense to me.
But maybe, NI has something coming up that they want to push so they hold back full integration.
I just hope it's not a motorized platter (rumor has it there's another manufacturer entering that niche market, soon: https://djtechtools.com/2018/08/13/...are-motorized-jogwheels-what-djs-really-want/ )

One of the Denon reps (Paul) commented on the request for Traktor HID on the Denon DJ forum (https://denondjforum.com/t/firmware-update-thoughts/12499/125):

This sounds like the ball is on NI's corner now?

sure it reads traktor playlists but completely over writes the perfect beat grids/bpm from traktor with an engine prime hilarious attempts at beat detection and theres nothing you can do to stop it.

If you're on MacOS there actually is something you can do to stop it.
Granted it's not as easy as press the import button, but the DJ Conversion Utility/Denon Conversion Utility route will preserve your Traktor BPM values 100% (the first beatmarker is still sketchy in the Prime ecosystem, more beatmarkers than 1 are not supported yet).
other benefits are: it's incremental, you are in control which playlists/folders are converted and if you follow the video you'll end up with a drive that will directly in the SC5000 series and Prime 4 no more analyzation etc required

    and here is the howto:

i just watched this video and it seems as if the grid is off although is it an acapella you used in the demo? are you saying the grid is also correct or do all the down beats need shifting? also is this windows or just mac?

last thing first I'm MacOS only. And for the reason. I'm a MacOS specialist for more than 35 years. Meaning if there is an issue with the OS I can not only identify, but most of the time fix/work around it. I don't have this same level of knowledge with Windows. 90% of the codebase for my apps is multiplatform. But I can't support windows to the extent I can support MacOS, simply because I'm lacking the necessary in depth OS knowledge.

In the video I use an acapella. Most likely I didn't even grid the track correctly in Traktor. What's more important about this demo is the fact that the BPM value from Traktor is converted over to EP. This is not the case with EP's Traktor conversion which will always use Engine Prime analyze values.
Getting the grid on beat (as with getting cues/loops that were shifted thru the conversion) is made extremely easy on the Prime hardware:
Press the encoder button for 3 seconds and you can use the jog to slide all cues/loops that were shifted on beat all together at once (those shifts are constant for all loops and cues)
press the encoder+shift for 3 seconds and you can shift the grid in place
again whats important is that the actual BPM values were maintained because that defines the width of the grid. (and with the current firmware the BPM values can not be altered after analyzation in the the player)

Damien mentioned in the forums that it is in the works. Currently they are on the 2.1 Beta. Once the 2.1 official release comes out, it will be in the next stages in the pipeline.

I was just reading the news on Facebook dat Virtual DJ now has native support for the Denon X1800 mixer. Ofcourse I would rather know if support for SC5000 was in the making. Unlike Native Instruments, Virtual DJ actually responds to user questions on Facebook, so the answer I found:
    upload_2019-5-10_16-6-3.png

So when will SC5000 support come to Traktor? If VDJ can do it, Native Instruments can not stay behind.

I found some new official statement from Jay_DenonDJ (Denon DJ Staff) in the DenonDJforum about Traktor HID (https://denondjforum.com/t/thats-it-im-done-with-it/13456/15). He is replying to someone complaining about the lack of Traktor HID support with:

"I’m afraid this has been out of our hands for a long time now and we’re hoping Native Instruments will have an update for this soon within Traktor."

So basically Denon is saying that Native Instruments already have all the information they need to implement SC5000 support ?

Yeah man. They are already HID capable. Just waiting on NI to decide they want to develop a gui and mapping for the players.

Denon has just added a new Features Request section to their Denon DJ forum.

Denon says about this section: "If you find an existing feature request topic that will improve your workflow, ‘like’ the original post. All topics will be ordered based on popularity. We can’t wait to hear your ideas!"

One of those requests is to add HID support for Traktor:
    https://denondjforum.com/t/traktor-pro-3-hid/11253

So please, be sure to like that post, to let Denon know how much we would like this feature!

In the feature-request forum, Traktor HID support is now the 3rd most liked request to Denon. Are there still Denon Prime owners (or maybe soon buyers) here that did not like that thread yet?
