But what about a detailed description of all those controls?

I found this frustrating too. Took me a while to figure some of them out. Traktor documentation is extremely incomplete. NI seems to have just washed their hands of it.

 

but what exactly don't you understand and will find NOT in the manual??!

i will not do your reading in the manual nor will i explain things that go to *common sense*!!!

(for example a 100$ question: what could be meant by *open setup*, hm??! )

shorten the list to the things THAT YOU DON'T FIND IN YOUR MANUAL and i will help you.

 

Honestly, all of those are self-explanatory. The ones that aren't, you can just add a shortcut too and test while running the program.

You didn't ask someone what the EQ knobs on the mixer did the first time you saw one of those either, did you? You just turned them to see. That approach still works in the digital world.

 

what does n-focus mean?

 

Focus refers to a control operating a deck that is "in focus".

N-Focus refers to a control operating a deck that is "not in focus".

This makes it possible to use a Midi controller box knob for example to control both decks, depending on which one is in focus. This way you only use one knob instead of two.

As for the exact meaning of Focus and in-focus, normally when you are using Traktor with the internal mixer, it sets the focus to the left deck when you have the cross-fader on the left, etc. However you can also set the deck focus with the "toggle deck focus" function and keyboard shortcut "1".
