Detune Trimmers

    I'm trying to create "Trimmers" similar to the ones in u-he Diva. But I'm having two problems...

    1) I don't know what I'm doing.
    2) Okay, so it's just the first thing.

    The basic idea is to have a bipolar knob (with a range of -1 to 1) dedicated to each individual voice in a polyphonic instrument.
    The value from each knob is sent to its modulation target (in this case note pitch) every time you play a note.
    So, it's basically a modulation source that changes in accordance with the Voice Number.
    It can be used to detune oscillator pitch or add a bit of "slop" to filter cutoff. It's a very popular feature in vintage analog synths.

    I created a simple ensemble where I tried (and failed) to do this by altering the "Note To Chord" tutorial in the Modules and Macros Reference. Everything seems okay when you just play one note at a time SEPARATELY, but if you combine notes TOGETHER one at a time, you'll notice that the 8th note jumps shark.

    Seem like something that would be better achieved algorithmically rather than with GUI trimmers. That way it will gracefully scale to the number of voices selected for the instrument - imagine having to hand tune multiple settings for 32 voices!

    Anyhow, the most useful module for you will be the voice info module, and specifically the 'V' output, this sends out a different id for each voice. You can then use this id to generate/select pseudo random numbers to use for your per voice de-tuning.

    Don't expect any amazing results from this though, it's just a very small part of the puzzle.
