Device updater does not recognize kontrol Z1

Hi
Traktor says the audio device, traktor kontrol z1 is not connected in audio set up. Traktor said i needed to update the firmware of the kontrol z1 device, which i gather should resolve the issue. I then downloaded the device updater for the kontrol z1 off NI. The device updater does not recognize this device and says i should exit, reconnect all devices and try again. This did not work; now im stuck without being able to update the firmware of the Z1. Everything works except for the audio capabilities of the Z1.

What should I do?

I have exact the same issue as @Donovin Coles has described. Before I used the Z1 on my old Laptop (Windows 7) without problems.
My new Laptop is:
Windows 8.1 (6.3.9600 Build 9600) 64bit
i7, 4GB RAM

@korence What do you mean by "boot this device"?

Well the fix was easier then I thought:

1) Deinstall all entries of the Kontrol Z1 Device in the device manager.
2) Download and install latest Windows Drivers for Z1, here: https://www.native-instruments.com/de/support/downloads/updates/?search=Z1
3) Connect Z1 and run Device Updater.
Done.

 

Same problem. I just got a Z1 off eBay. it came in and Traktor told me that firmware is outdated. I installed the Device Updater, it sees the Z1, but as soon as I run the update it blinks all the lights and shuts off. I have to unplug and re-plug it back in.

OS X 10.11.5

 

Just resolved this buy running Device Updated in my VMware Windows 10 VM.

 

I'm a Mac user and have no windows computer, is there a way to do it without windows?

download device updater 1.7.0 for Mac OS X from here https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/ and run the device updater program then connect your Z1
