    another suggestion:
use different colors (or maybe different levels of white/gray, or maybe different thickness) for every 4th/16th/32rd beat line, starting at the beatmarker.

    reason for request:
    - bar-aligned beatmatching made easier.
    - loopshifting made much easier.
    - helps when doing visual mixing (shitty monitoring in clubs, anyone? :)

I'll admit that's better than what is available now, but do you use the beat counter display on the decks?

Just saw the post in the other thread. It would be nice to have a quick visual like colored bars.

i "use" the beatcounter, but it's not practically usable in a heated mix with 4 decks.

clearly visible colored lines are far easier to spot than reading quickly changing numbers (and then thinking ... is .4 the last or .1 ... is it reverse or forward counting... etc)

Seems like traktor already has all the info calculated to color code these. Maybe theres a plugin that does this. How does one request NI for the feature?

    Thanks

nice idea, but how many colors would you use ?
For me 2 alternating colors would be sufficient ...
4 would also be ok, but more are complex

I don't like this multi color display of serato ...
    it hurts my eyes ...

i have not put many thoughts into this idea. "different colors" is just a title for this topic. i guess drawing every 4th or 8th bar in a thicker line would already suffice.
but i leave that to the gui designers ;)

The idea in it's essence is a lovely one in my opinion. Actually I had a similar idea yesterday:

How about a "floating transparent layer button" that becomes visible on your deck of choice when you have loaded a hotcue with loop points...?

The idea is that I could for instance load a drum roll with in/out points in deck C (or any loop for that matter)... and the length of that drum roll would be displayed as a floating transparent layer on the deck of my choosing moving along the waveform as the other song is played back, for as many bars/phrases as the in/out points in the drum roll file is. Making it super easy for me to time the sample/begin the mix at the right moment.

The idea is that it would let end users apply rolls, swoosching effects and shorter buildups on any song they like.
