Hello. I am running Windows 8.1, 64bit. When signing into service center to update applications (massive, reaktor, etc), I was told there was a previously detected version and I needed to reinstall the original, and then update. Not sure why this suddenly happened for all applications (registry info deleted somehow, maybe?). So I used Microsoft Fixit tool to uninstall each one by one, then reinstall the full program through the NI Website. From there I could update the program through service center. This work for everything, everything except Reaktor- which has been giving me a very hard time. (It doesn't show up in "Programs" when attempting to uninstall, as suggested by technical support). I have also entered the Registry (Run- REGEDIT) and removed Reaktor 5 manually. It has since disappeared from the Service Center overview tab, as expected. Now I go back and try to install Reaktor 5 from NI website. It says, again, "Installation is not possible since the full version of Reaktor 5 is found on this computer." How?! I removed all traces of it- a strategy that has worked for every other application, except Reaktor. I am baffled by this. I have the Mouth, Prism, Rounds, etc that all run using Reaktor- which now is gone (but is not, somehow?). I have also tried to reinstall form my Komplete 10 Ultimate disk, which tells me it "can't find a legitimate copy of Komplete 10". I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Thank you for your assistance with this...

    p.s.- I am running Komplete 10 Ultimate

Tech support actually was already contacted previously. They suggested to remove from "add/remove programs". They must have misunderstood, if it was as elementary as this I wouldn't have needed to contact them in the first place. My hope is that someone here may have a better understanding. Thank you

There is lot's of things i don't understand in this. Also that you have used fixit to remove programs instead of windows uninstall as NI suggest.

I guess you is a legitimit Komplete Ultimo user, and have installed from the Ultimo disk the first time you've installed.
I also wonder why you have installed again and why you've did it from NI's website. Well - You must have had your reasons.

That said then i'm puzzled about this:

Are you trying to install the Reaktor Player and not the full version i think.

And then i'm puzzled about this:

I'm thinking that you perhaps have deleted to much from your registry. Never remove anything from the registry if you are nor absolutely confident and know excactly what you are doing.

Also you may have an earlier install before you installed your Ultimo, that somehow and for some reasons causes troubles.

If you are lucky, then you have made a mistake trying installing Reakor player and not the full Reaktor from NI's website.
If not, then i guess you have two options.
    1. Uninstall and reinstall Komplete Ultimo from your Ultimo disk. If this do not work, then more is messed up. Maybe because of earlier installations or because of bad uninstalls or illigal software installs that have files in your registry.
    2. If the above don't work, then i'm afraid you have to do a complete reinstall/ recovery of your windows system and reinstall everything.

That's what i can do, and would do, if i had to.

Maybe someone else can do better.

I appreciate your time with the response. I can see where my post was misleading. So upon attempting to uninstall Reaktor initially, it wouldn't even appear in Programs and Utilities. This is where I used the Fixit tool. Eight more programs gave me the same error ("full version installed"), for which the fixit tool worked like a charm. There must have been some registry data messed with (maybe from a registry cleaner). For these programs I had to re-install from the NI website because the Komplete Ultimo drive kept giving me the message that I mentioned (missing a .MSI file). It is possible that I tried to install the Reaktor Player...but to get the full version would I not need to obtain that from the Komplet Ultim disk drive....which isn't working. I'm nervous that when I go to uninstall Komplete 10, then reinstall, I will get the same bogus message (missing .MSI file). Thanks again for your time..

    You are welcome.

Perhaps the registry cleaner also can have messed up something. One shall be very careful using cleaners.

I'm afraid you are in a situation where a reinstall/ restore of windows and all your applications is needed.
Your Komplete install disk shall work if you shall be confident. That it don't work i take as a sign something is messed up. Hopefully you don't have cleaned anything on that disk. Else you have to contact NI about that. But try to reinstall windows first. Then you'll see.

I will guess it works if you reinstall/ restore windows. Be positive. Also you get your PC cleaned and repaired this way.
Just remember to do a backup of your own personal made files before you restore windows, as they do not get reinstalled/ restored.

I recommend to restore/ recover windows if you can. Especially if you have speciel setup from a manufactor. This way also your files will be kept. But make a back up anyway in case.
Maybe let a technician reinstall/ restore for you so it's done correct.

Perhaps someone else have another suggestion.

    Good luck.

Solved...used Microsoft Fixit Tool, then found the file named "Komplete 10 Ultimate". Uninstalled that, then was finally able to reinstall from the original Komplete Disk (re-installed everything). I still received several errors regarding missing .MSI file when going to install, but it installed correctly indeed. Thank you all for the suggestions. I truly did not want to reboot Windows and was glad I didn't need to go there. Thank you for your time, again.

And thanks for the link, hopefully I just helped out that guy too. Or maybe I drew him deeper into madness...either way it's progress!
