Digitalising vinyl with audio 4, how to do it?

Dear NI community,

I have had the audio 4 for quite some time now and I'm pleased about it except for one thing. I can't figure out how to record vinyl records with the use of audio 4. I tried it with Audacity but it won't give any input no matter what I try. Can anyone please help me with digitalising my vinyl by using the audio 4? I have a Synq XTRM-1 turntable, Vestax VMC-185XL mixer, Audio 4 -obviously- and my OS is windows vista.

Instant update, some info I forgot. I want to record in 24/96 quality preferably using audacity.

I would guess, connect the turntable to the souncard inputs 1 &2 , set the input mode to phono, on the software set that up so as it is using the soundcard inputs 1 &2, press record.

 

Well that's exactly what I used to do when I was trying this. But miraculously it worked this time. But theres one problem. I want to record with a 96000Hz sample rate. When I set the sample rate in audacity to 96000Hz and in the audio 4 dj control panel to 44100Hz, it all works fine and i shows a nice spectrum in audacity. But when I select any other sample rate in the audio 4 dj control panel audacity gives me an "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate."
