will it happen sometime? it wouldnt be so hard to simply read out windows file structure and display it on the controller, would it?

i wasted hours of time again a few weeks before, tagging all my samples to show up on the hardware browser. but on the next day - they were all gone! WTF? this has to be a bad dream, i said to myself. but it wasnt... all the hours fiddling around with typing names and categorizing until late night - for nothing? it's all gone! i could have been working, sleeping or actually making music.

so today i said to myself: lets try it again! i finally want to make a track again. so i sat down for another 6 or 7 hours.
guess what happened now? i deleted a sub-tag i accidentally used to categorize samples i had already tagged. so i deleted that single sub-tag and now half of the other sub-tags are gone too. and some of the factory tags dissapeared aswell. what the hell? i've had it with that screwy friggin tag editor bullsh*t. :/ the only result of the last 6 hours working on those tags is me reinstalling the factory library again. this cant be true! i want to make music and not to sort samples over and over again.

please sort that out as soon as possible or im afraid i will smash my maschine next time that happens. grrrr...

so pleeeeeaaaaase give us the possibility to browse our samples directly from our folders without having to tag them again and again. or at least sort out that friggin tag system to work properly.

I'm totally with you on this one. I was so dissapointed to discover i can't browse straight from Maschine, it just spoils the whole workflow :(

Yep, tagging is a pain but, if it worked in a reliable way, it would still be a welcome option for those that want to use it.

For the rest of us, direct disk browsing support would seem like a no brainer for NI as many apps support it already. Also most of the time there is already a clear file structure on the HDD or the disc that makes browsing that way a very usefull feature.

Let's hope it makes it way in the next update.

thats exactly my point! i have everything sorted like i want it to be. if i could just browse those damn folders, i wouldnt have to integrate my file structure into ni's tagging structure somehow like i did it now. this is more confusing than useful for people like me who never really got used to the whole library and tagging thing.

    jesus christ yes
there is no way im ever going to use that tagging feature again.
    ever.
    EVER.

The only reason I can think of not implementing this is to coerce users into using their precious tagging feature. Let go of it NI, please.

    its music not housekeeping.
